I just wanted to pass along this great article from a mom who was a special needs child herself, and is now raising her special needs son:

Hi Dina. You are always welcome here. this site is for parents of special needs children and those with hearling loss as well. You may not meet another parent whose child has the same needs as yours, but you will always find support! Drop by as often as you like... looking forward to "seeing" more of you.

Hello cmmelissa!
I don't know where I fit in? My son is 7 and was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy Duchenne. He has mild mental delays and also is speech delayed.
I have the need to talk to someone from time to time but have not found a forum for this type of lethal illness. I am basically looking for a place of understanding where I can talk to moms that do understand just days like that?
am I in the right forum here?

Thanks for sharing your story! It sounds like they are the ones missing out, hopefully one day they'll figure that out.
