Shelley SAHM to Alicia (6 1/2 athetoid cp) and Jordan (23 months...a holy terror. LOL). Don't really want TOO much for Christmas, and as far as I know everything that I asked for has been bought. I would like TONS of books, and my far fetched wish would be for a personal trainor. Trying to lose weight without someone pushing me is hard.

It's too cold to walk...the temperature isn't TOO low by anyone else's standards...but I hate the cold!!!! You'd think I'd lose weight chasing Jordan around the house, but NO.

We could try...but I'd probably just lie to you (I need smileys...wink wink) and say I'm doing it when I'm not. LOL HOnestly at the moment there is bigger things to worry about then my weight...my father has gotten some bad news about his health...that may or may not be fixable.

THanks Jan...I may take you up on the offer some day...but this is just par for the course with my Dad. He was diagnosed almost 19 years ago with Lupus, and has had MANY battles with the disease since then...let's see congestive heart failure 8 times,,finally resulting in open heart surgery, almost 12 years ago now. Then the lupus attacked his spleen which allowed immature platelets (sp?) to course through his blood stream, ended up having surgery to remove his spleen (which brought a scare when one of the sutures slipped off the artery and he almost bled to death.) THe lupus has enlarged his liver, and at last report it is even larger and now his heart is enlarged. And apparently only working at (the most) 25%...so it's a new drug to try, but with lupus the Drs are never sure how a medication will react... what would work for you and I could make his symptoms worse, or cause a whole new set of problems...like one of the drugs which help combat the Lupus can cause severe eye problems...and a month ago at a routine eye field they spotted something in the back of his eye, IF it isn't something routine then he has to come off that drug. So now its a battery of every test known to man. But at least we know WHY he is SO tired these days.
You know I probably was very well practised by the time I had a child with disabilities, which could explain why I just got on with it. I had my days, but most people think that I have handled my situation very well. I guess I can thank my Dad, and all the things we went through with him..hhhmmmm that just goes to show you that your parents really DO teach you things.LOL I guess I just spilled my guts here, so the private email will have to come later. LOL Have a good night. Shelley
PS One really good, constructive thing...I HAVE FINISHED WRAPPING ALL THE CHRISTMAS GIFTS..at least the ones I have bought!

Oh, Shelly, I know how frustrating it can be to sit by the wayside and not be able to do anything for a loved one.
