new to hearing aids, what to get?

Hello, my dd, age 8, was diagnosed with moderate-severe high-frequency hearing loss in her left ear a short while ago. The audiologist at her neuro-otologist's office recommends one kind of aid. Since they wouldn't take our insurance for the aid, we saw another audiologist who's recommending something else. This seems so confusing. How do you pick out the right one? This is a new loss, so it will be her first hearing aid. What kinds of aids do you use? Can you offer any advice on how to get through this process?

Thanks!

My son has a cochlear implant. The best thing to do is find a audiolgist that you feel comfortable with and explore all the options. If you insuance does not cover the is a program in the stat for all kids to hear.

Thanks for the support. We finally made a decision and she'll get the aid on Friday.

That is great just wait until you child start resonding to you and you forget that there was ever anything wrong with their hearing that is how it is with my son and his cochlear implant Ssometimes I forget he is off and not hearing me.He is always on.
