New here - I have a 15 mo old son with Prader-Willi syndrome. He has global delays , low muscle tone. NG tube fed first couple of months - no problems transitioning to solid foods.

I wouldn't call it contraversial, it's just up for debate (if I used contraversial, that was a poor choice of words).

Well, let me give you an example of what my SLP did to work on speech oral motor issues with Alex and tell me if that's what is controversial:

She'd use an ARK probe to move around his tongue and get him to do exercises (like, pushing on the ARK probe either up, down, left or right).

I honestly don't know what tools they use, if any to work on speech oral motor things.

Heather,

I'm sure Harmony will have lots to say, but I can tell you that our SLP only used the vibrating tools to help satisfy my son's oral sensory cravings, and not really to work on his oral motor issues.
