I saw this page on SAHM page so I thought I would drop in and ask a question.

My DS is 18 months and can say 10-15 words but normally he will only say words if we repeat then enough to him. He has two older sisters that do a lot for him. So we figured that is why he doesn't talk much. Plus he has allergies that had clogged his ears at the first of summer. I say he does not talk much but he does but he doesn't. My DS speaks to us in his own language with a word here or there. Other then his allergies he is health and normally. The only other thing was this summer my oldest left his side and went in the house. We were cleaning the yard and my oldest DD was watching my DD and DS. Before we realized she was gone, my DS fell out of the back of our truck and hit his head. We took he to the ER but they said he was fine and sent us home with a balloon.

My question is...should I be worried about his lack of speech? I am not trying to be over protective or anything. I guess I am just looking for a like reassurance. Thank you for your time.

Welcome to the board!

I wouldn't be too concerned with his speech if he has 10-15 words that he uses spontaneously (as in, not just repeating you).
