Let's give LTP a try--if the thread gets long, we'll just go into part 2 and then 3 and so on :) And the winner of LTP for this month is also LTP for 2012! So lets get to chatting!

The past few days have been super crazy. Sunday was my work Christmas party (yummy food and a lot of laughing with my friend) and then my dad called that night to let me know that he was going to be able to stop in for a couple of nights on his way back from my uncle's funeral in Cleveland and was going to be here the next night. On Monday I worked all day but had to leave in the middle of my shift to go see the dr and do my pre-op stuff (which took forever!). The dr is the one that creeps me out some but he delivered Peanut and was really good--he's just an odd fellow lol. After work, my dad arrived in town and the kids and I hung out at his hotel room for a bit. Oh, and the added fun is that J woke up sick yesterday. Great timing, since I was counting on some help with kiddos and he was pretty much out of commission. Not. Cool. So today I had to be at the hospital a little before 8, they did all the prep stuff and it was sooo fun. Especially going without food or even water for hours and hours. The one super cool thing is that they had this weird gown that has a place for them to hook in a tube that can be either a heater or cooler so until they wheeled me up to the or i was nice and warm. Then the anesthesiologist put me under and I woke up confused because I thought I was at home and then i promptly asked for some coffee :p Overall I haven't felt too badly and I'm glad that they got my stuff swapped out and I'm hoping that this was a fluke. And i'm way less sore than I was after the dr visits where they tried to get it out, so i'm a pretty big fan of anesthesia right now hehehe Sorry for the crazy long post--i figured with the wacky board layout it was easier to do it all in one, so if you read this far, you're just super awesome : )

Darcy - Good job with the quilt and the sewing all done!

Cindy - I'm sorry there are more issues with the nursery. :(

Lindy - I haven't gotten to more decorating, but now that my Christmas letter is done, I'm hoping to have lots of time and energy for decorating. I don't feel behind after reading a kids' book this morning where the decorating was all done on Dec. 24th. I think we put too much pressure on ourselves in North America with our shopping from (your) Thanksgiving all the way till Christmas Eve, decorate early, have tons of parties and events, expect everything to be perfect, etc. That probably sounds Grinchy, but this year I'm feeling more like the Advent Bible study is the real Christmas prep and the rest needs to be scaled back and way less important.

I'm so glad the surgery went well. Boo to the stressful life otherwise. Grr to no paragraphs showing up - hoping that doesn't happen to this post...

Ben and I took care of groceries today and then went straight to playgroup. I felt like I owed him a little social time since preschool was cancelled this week. It was a good time for both of us.

I got a bit of cleaning after lunch and Ben wanted to colour, which gave me time to call my mum for a chat. :) And after Tim came home, there was a family project to do that we missed last week when someone forgot to send it home to us! It's all about how we spend the holidays and it was kinda fun. Hopefully it looks okay with a bunch of stickers and sparkles - Tim's more into colouring everything and it's less messy, too. LOL

I got my Christmas letter finished tonight and will upload it tomorrow to send the link by Facebook to those I couldn't email. I have a few copies printed to go to older relatives with no computers (and one aunt who just loves snail mail as I do). Also got trapped on the phone for a while with someone from church, but it was good to chat. Need to email her often since she sounds in need of more friendly attention. Too bad it's taking an upcoming funeral to bring this to my attention... There was a car accident Sunday night and I've now had three phone calls to be sure I knew about it (and an email directly from the pastor). We've got to organise a prayer chain for future emergencies!

Might have time to sort laundry before bed and I plan to bake a little tomorrow, plus I need to get back to the Christmas story I was reading before I remembered to write my letter!

Lindy, I had planned on talking the youth pastor tonight because he is the one in charge of it. BUT..I just received a fb message informing me I was in nursery this weekend and need to find a replacement for myself! I am going to be the bigger person and go ahead and call the other two nursery volunteers, although I'm pretty positive they are the ones with JJ issues. But that way I can send him a message back saying I asked everybody, and they all said no.

I'm happy to hear things went smoothly Lindy! I hope hubby feels better soon and is able to help out with the kiddos.

Becca, Julia had a family craft like that as well. We had to trace every family members hand, then each person had to write their name and draw a picture of their favorite part of the holiday. We then outlined the hands with different colored glittery sand, and found magazine picture to glue all around the hands showing different traditions we have. It came out pretty cute. :)
