Let's give LTP a try--if the thread gets long, we'll just go into part 2 and then 3 and so on :) And the winner of LTP for this month is also LTP for 2012! So lets get to chatting!

So this week is going to be nuts!  Today is grocery shopping, shopping for tubes for the nebulizer, and a run to Walmart for stocking stuffers and more cookie supplies!  Tuesday I have to make m&m cookies for the church party, and JJ has his school play that afternoon.  Wednesday I have to make train sugar cookies for Julia's Polar Express party on Thursday,  Plus we have the church Christmas party that night.  Thursday is Julia's party at school that I am helping with.  Then Friday is Julia's concert at school at 9:30.  Somewhere in there I have to wrap the kid's gifts, and I will be babysitting Mon - Wed from 7:30 - 5. Undecided

A little chuckling here, Cindy - that was just the first of three types of cookies I planned to bake. No time today for more because of multiple snow workouts and grocery shopping. Maybe tomorrow or Wednesday afternoon we'll do candy cane (which, I think, are just another type of sugar cookie). The shortbread will be last since that's my fave - no one else will mind if I don't find time for them till after the holiday. ;)

Yikes, way too much going on at your place! Want to play hooky and fly to see me? ;) We have a midday preschool party on Tuesday, for which I have a huge veggie tray left from church. Otherwise, I'll mostly be at home, and that means I should probably be chatting here a bunch!

Well I have to make Baklava bars today then I need to make up the plates for the neighbours, bus drivers, and teachers.

That is pretty well the last thing I have to do except cook meals.

What are you planning for Christmas dinner?

I think we'll do ham again.  And the mashed potatoes with cauliflower, that went over really well.  I may sqeeze in a cheesecake, not sure yet. :)

Christmas dinner here is about the same as Thanksgiving: turkey and stuffing, mashed potatoes, cooked carrots, (canned) cranberry sauce and usually a homemade apple pie. (I even have Nutriwhip I haven't used yet. Woo hoo!)

And there'll be nog to drink - soy or almond for Tim and me (just discovered it and was totally psyched), and the regular stuff for Hubby and Ben.

Ben's preschool party went well and he got the other mums smiling and/or laughing when he insisted on finishing his lunch rather than talking to Santa. He even scowled at him when the big guy came over to deliver his present to the table. Hee hee. I'm sure in another year or two he'll be all chatty and treating Santa as his friend, so I'm not worried about it. As long as he doesn't treat relatives like that, it's cool in my books to be cautious about folks he doesn't know well. ;)

Ben fell asleep on the way home from the party and I let him sleep around two hours, when I remembered that he hadn't gone to the bathroom before we left the party. One bed soaked, but everything is washed and in the dryer, so we should be good for bedtime. (Whew!)

Your food all sounds so good! What are mashed potatoes with cauliflower?  That sounds interesting

Oh, and I forgot to comment on your story about the general anesthesia the other day--the extreme reactions made me giggle a bit and I felt bad for your poof dh.  My dh didn't have to deal with me much since he was sick but at least he made up for it by taking over kid duty when i was icky a few days after him
