I'm so upset tonight...

Girls, I need vent in order to calm my nerves tonight.  I don't usually get on the computer after church, but I'm so upset.  I learned tonight that some of the volunteers in the church nursery are complaining that JJ is still in there, and some are even refusing to change his diapers because he is "too old to be in them."  I shouldn't have to defend my baby to my fellow sisters in Christ.  He is in there because the youth pastor, and the head of the nursery thought it was appropriate.  Who are they to refuse to care for him properly? I already talked to one teacher of the preschool class, and will talk to two of the others.  If they agree to give him a try in there, I will do that.  Then the fourth week he will stay in the nursery on the day I am scheduled in there.  The fourth preschool teacher is known to not be understanding of disabled children, and will NOT have my baby.  I'm so torn, because if the preschool class doesn't work out, I don't know what to do with him.  I don't want him left with people who refuse to care for him properly.   I do all that I can for my boy, it hurts to have people judging me and him because of his disabilities.  :(

Wow, the Pastor and the head of the Nursery need to lay down the law.  You shouldn't have to deal with this at all.

Matthew 25:45  "He will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'

I'm so sorry this is happening. It's very wrong for this to happen anywhere, but tragic when it occurs in a church. Lots of hugs and prayers for your family!

I agree, Leona. The motivation needs to be that all we do is for Christ, and that's not happening in the nursery at this point.
