January Chat Thread Part 1

Tue, 01-01-2013 - 9:49pm

I called this one chat thread because I wasn't sure if we wanted to continue the ltp tradition with the wonky time code issues.  So if you guys vote to still do ltp, I'll just edit the thread title :)

How was everyone's first day of the new year?  I got to stay in bed crazy late so that was a nice change since daddy had kiddo patrol.  And they were actually pretty well behaved :)

If you didn't see my fb post on peanut, she's now sleeping in her own bed all night.  Kind of bittersweet since it's the whole growning older thing but it;s hilarious that she's staying in her bed because she has a soccer ball to snuggle.  Odd little kid.

Yesterday was comnpletely nuts!  Not only were both kids back to school, but I went to 8, yes 8, stores!  I went to Aldi, Price Chopper, Walmart, and Party City for groceries and birthday party supplies.  Then Target, Justice, and Crazy 8 for birthday gifts.  I also had to go to Kohls to exchange pants for Julia.

I have to go back to 2 of the stores today because I am a goof ball. I thought I had put January 1st as the rsvp date, hence all the shopping yesterday. I actually had put the 2nd, and had 4 more calls last night! One call was that the twins from her class was coming. So now I don't have enough goody bag supplies, and will need more plates, napkins, and juice for the kiddos. She has 18 kids and approx. 17 adults coming to her party on Saturday. I hope the room at the zoo is big. ;)

WOW to the number coming to Julia's party!  That is crazy!  We will be sticking with family for awhile...maybe one family friend but the ones I am thinking of add 5 to the group!

I am feeling like I am getting sick now..ugh.  I have washed dishes and put them away and started laundry...should move those...okay did that.

I was able to get all the blocks together and sewn into rows.  so tomorrow I will sew the rows together then borders and the second quilt will be done!!!

Inlaws have asked to have X come spend the night with them tomorrow night.  They will take Xavier till he is ready for bed.  SO dh and I are going to go shopping and to go eat at Cracker Barrel.  We will be going to Hobby Lobby, TJ Maxx and Belk...that is basically the only stores there besides walmart where we are going.

I am really hoping that I can get the quilt done tomorrow so I can work on cutting dh's out ;)

Cindy - I hope the new room is a great incentive for Julia and JJ learns from his big sister that it's cool to stay in bed. ;) We have a book called Back to Bed, Ed that the boys like. I just hope it doesn't make them think it's funny to keep getting out of bed at night. ;) ;) And eight stores in one day is insane. So is having that many kids to one party, hee hee.

Darcy - Sorry you're feeling sick now! Good work on the quilts. And woo hoo to the dinner and shopping without kids!

Megan - Hi! *Waves*

Dr's appt update: A pseudo-AF visit in the middle of the cycle probably means that the dose of hormones is too low, so I'm switching to a higher dose this weekend. I even gave the lab a sample to test prior to my appt just to be sure I still need pills. ;) Also got Nasonex to clear out the sinuses. It makes sense that's been my problem for the past month because my colds always go to my sinuses!

Before my appt, I exercised and finished the teen fantasy novel Hubby had recommended. It was a good one and I'm looking forward to the rest of the series (at ten books now). We also played a couple kids' games while waiting to go to the clinic.

After lunch I washed dishes and took the boys out to play in the snow. They had a little round fort going in the piled-up snow and I widened it a bit so there's room for two to stand comfortably and "build it up," which for Ben just means moving snow and patting down the edges of the fort. He might be making some progress but it's hard to tell. ;)
