January Chat Thread Part 1

I called this one chat thread because I wasn't sure if we wanted to continue the ltp tradition with the wonky time code issues.  So if you guys vote to still do ltp, I'll just edit the thread title :)

How was everyone's first day of the new year?  I got to stay in bed crazy late so that was a nice change since daddy had kiddo patrol.  And they were actually pretty well behaved :)

If you didn't see my fb post on peanut, she's now sleeping in her own bed all night.  Kind of bittersweet since it's the whole growning older thing but it;s hilarious that she's staying in her bed because she has a soccer ball to snuggle.  Odd little kid.

I realized the other night that i hadn't seen 8 whole episodes of Switched at Birth so i managed to catch up and I hope that the new episodes are on hulu plus. Although it's probably better to wait to watch so i don't have to be in suspense for weeks hehehehe

Lindy, I don't know what is going on wit my ccycle either.  AF decided to stop for a short visit Christmas eve and day with light spotting.  I cramped the whole week before (so I was prepared) but then barely anything.  Now I am crampy again (although I think that I am O'ing).  Xavier is still working on weaning but he hasn't nursed since Thursday night and today is the first time he has asked (ie putting his hand down my shirt) ;) in several days.  I didn't comply which didn't make him happy till he got his warm strawberry milk.  I need to get him to taper of the flavoring and back to plain white milk.

I have started keeping track of things with my cycle again on my ipod...probably need to figure FF out again.  DH is excited to try for a third but we are waiting till we get some major things paid off this year (I hope that we can start TTC in August)  I told him that next January-May (2014) are out so that it doesn't interfere with our beach trip :)  I wouldnt mind taking a little one but I don't need to be JUST having one or about to...but NO FAMILY and 99% of friends don't even know we have decided to try so keep this here or private please ;)

I finally made it to ivillage!  As most of you know, I had a horrible migraine over the weekend.  Yesterday I was mostly pain free, but I didn't want to chance it with a bright screen.  I have slight throbbing in my temples now from from reading ltp, but I had to catch up with you ladies!  I felt sort of lost.  ;)

Julia's party went great!  Thanks for the prayers.  There were a lot of kids, but they all had a great time.  I had Caitlin, the older girl I watch, lead them in a few games while we waited for the pizza.  I even gave her a couple of bucks for doing it.  :)  After pizza, cake, and ice cream, the kids put together a cardboard box filled with certain spices that the lions like.  Then we all walked up to the lions exhibit and watched them tear into the box.  It was so cute since there were two cubs!  Adorable!!  Then we came back and they did the animal part.  We were given a 4th animal for free because the door to our rooms was blocked off and we had to go up some stairs to get there.  I will take stairs for a free animal any day.  So Julia chose to see the hedgehog, a duck, a turtle, and a lizard.  All the kids sat right there for 40 minutes asking questions, and they were allowed to pet everybody.  It was really neat.

Today Julia is officially 6.  I can't believe it!  Both her fish died, and I decided am DONE with fish for now.  So, as a birthday gift, dh took her to the petstore and she was able to pick out a hamster.  She has been wanting one for months.  I have to say, she is the prettiest hamster I have ever owned.  I always had a hamster when I was growing up, so that is saying something.

Julia absolutely loves her to pieces. She has named her Dory from Finding Nemo.  She is the most spoiled hamster in the world I think.  She has her wheel, a salt lick, chew sticks, an edible hutch, and Julia gives her two little treats every night before bed.  Every day after school, Julia races to her room and we put Dory in her ball so she can run around the room in it.  Sometimes I lock up the dogs so she can run in the living room too.  I am going to take a picture of her today because Julia wants to take it to show and tell tomorow.  Actually, she wanted to take the hamster and I said no, lol.

So glad that the pain is basically gone!

So happy that Julia had a great party!  Xander went to one the week I had Xavier.  He was able to feed the giraffes.

I am still working on dh's quilt but it is getting there.  I received a text this morning asking me to organize meals for a friend who had a baby on Saturday.  I need to text her and see if she wants it.  I had been told after her last baby that she didn't want food...we shall see.

Angie just posted in FB CSP that Linda's daughter Lydia does have cancer...I believe it is transplant related thing although I am not sure I understand that at all.  Anyways we need to seriously cover her and family in prayers.  they will be lowering her immunosuppresants  which could increase the chance of rejection.  Pray pray pray!

Oh Lindy... That was me on the tree reference. I can't be the good girl all the time. ;)

And don't feel unproductive when you read what I chat about doing - everybody has different energy levels and demands on their time. I like to compete against myself in most matters, including how productive I can be with my days - then I'm not comparing to anyone else without knowing all the pertinent factors.

As for that mean lady AF... Three days into the new prescription and I'm spotting again. Grrr. I'd rather not be leaking all the way up to my next week of sugar pills. Not only is it annoying, it interferes with the opportunities for adult "naptime" around here.

Darcy and Lindy - It's weird that yesterday's episode of Switched was the start of Season 2. It seems like it's already been two seasons and this should be three. ;) Bunheads was on right afterward, too. :D

Darcy - We're also waiting because we need to determine price and timing of work that would turn our laundry room into a third bedroom. I want to start spring to summer, in hopes of having one that isn't born in the fall. ;) Also haven't shared with folks IRL. And thank you for the update about Lydia since I would have stayed away from FB until the weekend. Now I'm thinking I should check in sooner, maybe get Linda's snail mail address for a card.

Cindy - Welcome back! Hope that migraine stays away for good. I totally understand avoiding the computer if it keeps the pain away. Aw to the great zoo party (so cool!) and the (spoiled) hamster gift.

Tim's pediatrician appt went great. No celiac, no thyroid issues and just low on iron. I'll get new multivitamins and extra "elemental" iron, plus we can cut the laxative down and hopefully get off it eventually. Also got samples of Lacteeze to allow for some dairy consumption and we can test whether he's really intolerant or has maybe grown out of it. (One of my sisters was on soy formula as a baby and later had dairy with no issues. Still has none. Meanwhile it looks like mine developed over time as I grew older...)
