Catching up on the April thread here.  :)

Becca
- part of the babysitting stress is that I am not getting paid right now.  I told them to wait a few weeks until they were back on their feet.

- Julia cut off 11 inches!!  It was very strange looking at the oh so common braid sitting on my counter.  But I am loving how much easier it is to care for now.

- Woohoo to cold medicine again!  I am for letting the cold run it's course, BUT, they need some relief at night so they can get the sleep their bodies need.

- "iVillage has mischevious gnomes wandering around causing errors and munching up posts! ;)_...ROFL

Leona:

- Cool mom award goes to you for that party!!

I just saw cough syrup so far, not medicine for other cold symptoms. (Didn't make that clear, but I can blame the cold, right?) I picked Zarbees from the three available brands, maybe since it said "all natural" and I may have fallen for the cute packaging. LOL There was only the regular kind there, not the nighttime stuff, but you raise a valid point about the kids needing good sleep during a cold. That's why Brad just takes Nyquil and then goes medicine-free during the day - meanwhile I'm medicated during the day with non-drowsy stuff so I can tend to the house and kids, but I don't want to be out of it at night either because they might need me!

Wow, that must be quite the change for Julia's hair! Do you have pics up on Facebook for me to get a peek?

Tutoring went well this morning, just miscellaneous issues that have come up and no tutorial lesson this time. I mentioned going to the library after that and Ben wanted to walk, so even though we're not tip-top, we got in some good exercise. I forgot to ask for help signing in to renew books, but I can do that by phone at some point - I seem to have forgotten my username and password, tsk tsk.

While Ben started lunch, I browned beef for spaghetti sauce and then had chicken soup leftovers for my meal. After I cleaned the kitchen, I also had time to get the bugs off the front of the car. I'm hoping I'll have energy and motivation to wash the entire vehicle tomorrow, but I was getting sick of seeing the bugs!

The boys had soccer this afternoon and both showed signs of shorter attention spans than the length of the lessons, but otherwise they did well even with the cold. It might have helped that I brought a Thomas towel for a nice place on the grass, plus books to keep one kid busy while the other had the lesson. (Next year they might be in the same group if it's still 4-6 years.)

I should look at my photos tonight, to see if there's anything to upload to my website. Should have a few outdoor photos at least.

Photos done last night, car washed today and even a walk to the post office. Otherwise, I've been taking it easy and reading a lot. It's still mild compared to other colds I've had, but I'm definitely feeling today that I'm fighting something.

It's a CBS night for us, except for Two and a Half Men. We also have the newest Mythbusters. :)

Once we're done with Elementary, I'm hoping to get in some more reading since I have about 100 pages to go in a Jane Austen related novel. I can sometimes successfully read and watch TV together, but not with Elementary - that one requires a bit more concentration to be sure I'm following the mystery properly.
