We were talking about movies in LTP (see....told you that was the place to be ;)) and especially talking about ones with bad endings.

My picks for movies that were really good but that i never want to watch again:

Ladder 49--very well done but stressful and with an ending that really stuck with me

The Patriot--another good movie but one scene especially makes it a never watch again one

  • It's the scene with the fire in the church.

    Life is Beautiful - one because of sub-titles (makes a movie a lot of work,lol)

    Schindler's List - Too graphic and sad to watch more than once.

    And I actually didn't like The Passion of the Christ. I felt it bludgeoned the audience with the violence of the death rather than concentrating on the reason He endured it.

    Thankfully I heard a warning about that one before thinking about watching it. Whew!

    I've only watched When Harry Met Sally once. Just not funny to me. Billy Crystal is only good in a few roles, IMO. (And the best is Mad Max in The Princess Bride, which I could watch a bazillion times. :D )

    I can't remember if i saw the movie (i think i did) but i remember reading the book and getting very teary during it

    I have not seen saving private ryan yet...i might check to see if it's on netflix. And i've never heard of Life Is Beautiful...i think watching a movie with subtitles might make me only read and not watch any of the background. Is it based on a book? If so, i might see if i can find it to read

    I've only seen that one once but it was a long time ago and just didn't stand out to me. I love Billy Crystal in City Slickers---i love the part where he says "hello boys. I thought I'd mosey on over here. You know, I've never mosied before. I've walked, I've ambled...I even sashayed once"

    They have actually brought out a translated version of the movie so you don't have to read. I don't believe it came from a book. The visuals are worth seeing the movie. The year it came out, it won Oscars for best foreign film
