Hi girls. Well this is Naomi(maybabymaybe). I have never been in a prayer partner group before so I am very excited!

* What are your children's names and ages? I have one daughter Nadia Raya who is going to be seven months old on the 8th.

* How long have you been married? My hubby and I have been married 2 years and five months.

* What is your favorite season and why? Tough one. I am a Christmas fanatic so I love the winter but by about February I am very sick of it. So I would have to day summer because we get to go to the cabin every weekend.

* How did you become a Christian? I grew up in a Christian home and was taught about Jesus from a very young age. When I was three I went to my mom and asked her to tell me about the time I asked Jesus into my heart. Well she told me that she did not think I ever had. Right there I knelt by the sofa with my mom and asked Jesus to forgive my sins and come into my life. I also really had a time of making my faith my own when I was in Bible college.

* Where do you live (as in region, you don't have to be specific)? Manitoba Canada.

* Have you started Christmas shopping? I am almost finished. Like I said I am a Christmas fanatic.

* Toilet Paper- over or under? You know I really do not think about it I just am glad when I can find a spare roll and am not stranded on the toilet with no paper. lol.

* Do you have siblings? I have one brother who is married. And I have two sister and brother in laws from my hubbies side.

* Where do you fall in birth order in your family? I am the spoiled baby. JK I was not very spoiled although when we where younger my brother would maybe have argued with that.

Anyway that is a little bit about me. I am really looking forward to getting to know you all better.

~Naomi

hi ladies! can't wait to get to know you better this month!

* What are your children's names and ages? layla is just over 2, and kai is 3 1/2 months

* How long have you been married? a little over 5 yrs to dh josh

* What is your favorite season and why? fall! we don't really have a spring here, winter is like 6-7 months long, and i can't stand heat! i just love the smell of fall and all the fall activities

* How did you become a Christian? my story is almost exactly like naomi's. my dad's a pastor, so i grew up in a christian home and went to christian schools. i became a christian very young, then fell away in my teen years and came back to really make my faith my own in college.

* Where do you live (as in region, you don't have to be specific)? western NY

* Have you started Christmas shopping? no - i like to wait till last minute! i went to the store to get sale candy today, and it is SO hard to see all the christmas stuff and not buy anything. i LOVE christmas! we don't do anything christmas till after thanksgiving, though. dh and i are going to the il's for a week in dec, so we're going to leave the kids with the il's and do our shopping then. i can't wait for some time alone with dh - it'll be the 1st time in a very long time!

* Toilet Paper- over or under? over! i'm about the only one who replaces it though, so i get it the way i want lol =)

* Do you have siblings? i have one older brother, and my sil - his wife

* Where do you fall in birth order in your family? i'm the 2nd of 2.

i have one major prayer request right now, but it's posted up in the prayer folder, so i won't repeat it. it's the "prayer for major decisions" one. the recruiter is coming to our house monday night, so please pray. again - looking forward to the month with you! how can i keep you in prayer!

* What are your children's names and ages? Xander is 4, Gryffin is almost 3, and Brinley is 6 months.

* How long have you been married? 8 years to my best friend, Josh

* What is your favorite season and why? I think I am fickle so I am blessed to live in an area where we get all 4. I think by the end of each, I am ready fro the next.

* How did you become a Christian? I was baptized when I was seven after bugging my parents about it for 6 months after my brother was. It has only been in the past few years that I have claimed the faith really as my own and not just gone to church because that is what you do.

* Where do you live (as in region, you don't have to be specific)? the Midwest

* Have you started Christmas shopping? yes, for a few things. DH and I made a list the other day of what we were going to get and have a couple of things marked off.

* Toilet Paper- over or under? over! I don;t know why, that's just the way it is.

* Do you have siblings? yes, two brothers

* Where do you fall in birth order in your family? the spoiled baby - 3rd of 3. And I was/am spoiled. My DH even spoils me even though he is the baby (3rd of 3) too.

If you could please pray for me and my family right now, I would really appreciate it. My grandma died yesterday and I am having a lot harder time than I thought I would. She was 97 and hadn't known anyone for several years, so I thought it would be no big deal, but it really is. In fact, I'm not dealing well with it and letting things seep into other areas and cause problems. Thanks, girls!

Colleen, I will be praying for clarity of direction for you.

Anything we can pray about for you, Naomi?

elizabeth - i'm so sorry about your grandma. you and your family are in my prayers.

naomi - how are you?

as for me, you can continue to pray for dh and my decision regarding him joining the army reserves. the recruiter is coming over tonight to over the details with us, so we'll be making a decision in the next day or two. it all depends on what kind of financial support we get from them during the 2 months of boot camp - whether we'll be able to pay our bills and all. oh, and on how exactly the health benefits work. please pray that God will make it very clear to us which direction to go.

also, i got a letter this weekend from shriner's hospital for us to call and make an appointment for layla to be evaluated. so, i'll be calling later this week. pray that i can get an appt on a friday so dh can come and that we will find the gas money somewhere and someone to stay with. also that there will be some sort of miracle that she will be able to get her surgery before dh leaves (if he does leave). i'm not sure i can handle going through that on my own. thanks!

how were your weekends? we didn't do much of anything except the normal church stuff and we usually have a family (my parents, my bro and his family) lunch on sunday. how can i pray for you this week?

just wanted to let you know that our meeting with the recruiter was rescheduled for wednesday night at 6, so i would love prayer support then! thanks so much!

also, one more thing - not to overload you, but when you got people praying specifically for you, you gotta take advantage of it lol! anyway, i've been getting headaches. i mean, i get migraines every once in a while, and usually they're caffeine-related. but i haven't been drinking coffee (and i don't drink soda anyway) cuz of bf-ing, so i'm not sure what's going on. normally i wouldn't worry much, but i've been getting one almost every day. if it's close enough to bedtime, i can hold out, but the longer i let it go without medicine, the worse it gets. anyway, pray that i can find the source or maybe they'll just go away. right now, i'm thinking it's either cuz i haven't been eating great, or it's from chocolate. my mom gets migraines from chocolate. i'm praying that's not what it is. i don't think i could survive lol! but i'm going to try to cut out chocolate and see what happens.

ok, thanks again for praying!

Praying for you, Colleen. Are there Ronald McDonald houses near the Shriner's hospital? I know my friend Angi stays at one when she has to take her daughter to the children's hospital. I think it is only $5 a day or something and they even prepared meals.

As for me, the funeral is tomorrow. I am doing much better but still have a way to go to get back to normal. Fortunately for me, I have wonderful friends both IRL and you online ladies who are praying for me, so I know I am going to do better each day. Please also pray for me as I go through the new bible study my group is doing. It is Conversation Peace, about taming the tongue and the power of words. I have already been kicked in the gut about this and am humbling myself and asking for prayers while I learn and grow. I am very excited to get a chance to change how I communicate with others. I feel very blessed God cares enough to correct me in this area. The growing sure hurts sometimes, though!

Praying for you both and the election!

Definitely will pray for wisdom about your husband joining the reserves. That is a very big decision. I will also pray that everything will work out with getting Layla evaluated. Why does she have to have surgery?

Such a cute siggy by the way. I had not seen it yet. Praying for the funeral tomorrow. It is such a blessing that you have a lot of support. Wow that devotional sounds great I think I should be doing something like that. I have a bit of an Irish temper and sometimes I know I use my words as weapons instead of for healing. I pray that this devotional really sinks in for you.

hi girls! i hope i remember everything. even if i don't, i'm praying for you both!

elizabeth - praying for you tomorrow. also praying that God will use this Bible study for your growth, even if it does hurt! praying you will be receptive to what He has to say! and i also love the siggy - brinley is gorgeous!

naomi - praying for you too! anything specific to pray for?

layla's left thumb is very small and has never worked. the bones are there, but there must be something wrong with the muscles or joints. our hand dr here recommended she go to the shriners in philly because they have the best children's hand surgeon. (plus shriners is free - yay!). anyway, since she has never moved the thumb, there's not a good chance that they can rebuild it, so she will probably have a surgery where they remove the thumb and make a thumb out of her index finger. it's more important that she have a thumb than 4 fingers. we've been waiting on her to grow big enough to do the surgery, and her doctor thinks she's finally there, so we're starting to get the ball rolling. i'll probably call today.

they do have a ronald mcdonald house in philly (in fact it was started there). i'm thinking for the evaluation, we'll probably stay with a friend. i grew up in PA, but my closest friend to philly is still like 2 hrs away. but for the surgery, we'll probably look into the house. it's still like 15 min away from the shriners hospital though. but i don't think the surgery is more than an overnight, so we could just stay at the hospital. we'll have to see what their regulations are. and i gotta figure out what to do with kai. but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

sorry this got so long... sometimes i ramble lol! thank you for your prayers!!! happy election day!
