Happy October Ladies! I hope you all enjoy getting to know one another this month. Here is a small excerpt from The Possibilities of Prayer by E.M. Bounds to start you off this month. I hope you find it encouraging!

"HOW vast are the possibilities of prayer! How wide is its reach! What great things are accomplished by this divinely appointed means of grace! It lays its hand on Almighty God and moves Him to do what He would not otherwise do if prayer was not offered. It brings things to pass which would never otherwise occur. The story of prayer is the story of great achievements. Prayer is a wonderful power placed by Almighty God in the hands of His saints, which may be used to accomplish great purposes and to achieve unusual results. Prayer reaches to everything, takes in all things great and small which are promised by God to the children of men. The only limits to prayer are the promises of God and His ability to fulfill those promises. 'Open thy mouth wide and I will fill it.'" --E. M. Bounds

Hi Colleen and Lindy!

Well I am heading out the door. Conner has Occupational therapy and then we FINALLY have our appointment for the intake interview for CARD, which is the service for Autism for this area...have been trying to get in there for months now! So I am quite excited about this. Im hoping we can get into some classes for me (to learn more on how to handle and care for Conner with his Autism) and maybe get him into another playgroup of some kind...he does alot with our church, since our pastor and his wife have a 2 year old to, we have playdates for the boys at their house on fridays and such...but another playdate with other kids would not hurt!
So I will check in and let ya know how that goes and I am looking forward to getting to know the both of you better...later on today...I will post more about myself since those of you that DID know me from before...might have forgotten me lol!

Many hugs, nikki

Hi Nikki! Hi Colleen! I'm really looking forward to getting to know you guys better this month :) And i'm so glad you were able to get in for an appt Nikki. I know that getting a program set up early really makes a huge difference. I can't wait to hear how it went. And i'm also glad that you were able to come back to us! Colleen, how are things going for you? Have you guys been able to take care of that stuff that came up last month (the bills mess that you posted about)? How is Layla doing with potty training?

hi ladies! can't wait to get this month started and get to know you better!

nikki - praise God for your appts this morning! early intervention is SO huge, and i hope you have a wonderful appt that gives you a positive attitude for the days to come! update us when you can!

lindy - how are you doing? how are the kids?

yes, i think we did manage to muddle through the financial stuff, thanks to the generosity of my ils and the willingness of a couple companies to work with us on bills. we actually had to skip our car payment in sept, but the car company worked with us on it, so that was good. dh was overpaid in july, and his company decided to take it back over a time period of 10 wks, so we have been losing over $400/mo on top of all that unexpected stuff that happened. anyway, this week is the last paycheck to have money come out, so i'm looking forward to things getting back to normal. we always struggle with money, but the struggles will be a lot less after this week. thanks for thinking of me. as for potty training, she's just not quite ready yet, so i still sit her on the potty sometimes, but i'm not forcing the issue anymore. i'll try again in a month or two. besides, i definitely need to get her more underwear before we try to go cold turkey again lol!

well, my ils are coming up this weekend. they were supposed to come for a week, then they decided for like 4 days, but then stupid NY state won't take my mil's nationwide medicare, so she has to have dialysis on fri morning down there, so they'll only be here for not even 2 1/2 days. bummer. anyway, we're going on a shopping spree on saturday, which my ils are financing (yes, they are very good to us). i think i'm going to get my hair cut - yay! and kai is being dedicated at church on sunday. so that's what's coming up for me. i don't really have any prayers right now, except that i get my house cleaned before the weekend =)

Ok...this probably wont be as long as I was hoping for...

Appointment went great! Got some things lined up and Conner was a good boy for me while we were there...

But I started to have some back pain when I got out of the car at home...thought I might have picked up Conner wrong...but now...I think it is a Kidney Infection...it is only on my right side half way down my back...my mother gets them to right in the same place...
We went to the store and got some cranberry pills...since the juice would make me sick (cant drink juice due to the natural sugars...I have had gastric bypass surgery)...and now I am in pain and thinking of laying down on the couch...

So here is to hoping that tomorrow is better...had to miss Prayer meeting tonight at church and im bummed about that...plus in pain...so tonight just is suckie roo!

I hope you girls are having a better night and I will check back in tomorrow!

Many hugs,
Nikki

Hi girls! How are you both doing? Well today is Friday and around here that means grocery shopping day and bill paying day! So I have alittle bit of running around to do. One good thing is that I will be going to the book store to see if they have the new bible I am gonna get! I have decided on the one my friend has...The Reformation Bible...
Our Pastor sent me a message on facebook yesterday...it seems that he has found something for me to volunteer for at the Family Fest this weekend...I am going to be the offical photographer! I have a higher end camera that my husbands boss gave to us, and so I am the one that was picked for it...the only thing is...I have not mastered this camera and have so much to learn about it! And I have never even taken any pictures outside with it! I am scared and worried but I know that they dont expect Professional type pictures or anything...I just dont want to mess it up! So I am going to be practicing alot before Saturday!!! Wish I had more time to practice! I will be taking my little camera to...just in case I cant get the other one working...since the small one takes great pics!
I will of course post some of my pics if I can get them on photobucket...for some reason...I cant them on here at home with this internet!

So all is ok for now..no big concerns in us..how are you two...any prayer needs that I should be lifting up to God??? For me just the usual...Conner and his Autism...and for me to know how to effectively be his mommie! And Nate and since he is still new in his faith...for him to stay strong in it!

Many hugs, nikki

hey girls!

that's great about taking pictures - i hope you have lots of fun! i love photography too, but i've just never had the time to really learn all the ins and outs. praying for your family!

lindy - how are you?

things are good here. looking forward to a weekend with the in-laws, doing some shopping tomorrow, and kai being dedicated on sunday. both kids are sleeping at the same time for the third day in a row, so that's a praise!

i just got off the phone with dh, and apparently he broke up a fight at a college today (he delivers snack food) and got offered a job as assistant head of security. he's been a bouncer and has wrestling and martial arts training. not to mention being in lots of fights in highschool lol! anyway, he told them if they could pay him more than he makes now and give him weekends off, he'd think about it. i'm not really thinking about it yet, but just pray that God would make it abundantly clear what we should do - whether the guy never contacts josh or that it would be an offer we just can't turn down. josh is happy where he is, so he's not really looking, but we're not going to turn down something amazing either.

that's all i got for now - have a wonderful weekend!

Wow...that would be a cool answer to the question "so how did you hear of your current job"...
I will pray that he has the wisdom to know if this is a door from God or not...we have been studing Knowing God's ONGOING will in our lives bible study on Monday nights and this very thing was just covered a couple of weeks ago...how just because a door has been opened...does not mean that it is from God...so I will pray for him to have that wisdom to figure it out!!!

Hugs, nikki

Hey I just remembered something my Pastor told us that night when we were talking about that..there is a few questions you can ask to see if God opened that door or not...
1.)Will this change help your relationship with God Grow?
2.) Will this change help expand the Kingdom of God? (meaning bring more opportunity to talk to others about God)
3.)Will this change bring God Glory?
4.) and if you do this change...are you just running away from something instead of handling it?

now this might not fit in...but I just thought I would share it...never know when they might be a help to someone!

Hugs, nikki
