Uhoh to you being stuck with me this turn--normally i hang out on my own but this time there was an odd number of sign ups. I hope that i don't drive you batty by the end of February lol

Oh wow to winning the school spelling bee! That's definitely a talent :D

I am with you on the no bugs in winter thing--i lived in Florida and there were creepy bugs year round. That is definitely not fun at all.

I'm sorry that the new year is off to a rough start. I try not to get too pressured by the fact that it's a new year and expect the start to set the tone for the next 365 days but i did always hope things would improve. I guess there's still some of that catholic-upbringing-superstitious-thinking still left in me :p My mom is still obsessed about not going out a different door than you entered lol

Ok, here are my answers to the questions:

New Year so far has been pretty good--i think i'm finally losing the cough and actually made it back to the gym. Sadly, i'm still eating way too much so i need to get that under control. I'm also super excited because the car now has heat. I don't use it a ton, but it's nice to get the chill out of the car when needed (but it's kind of funny that it's been a dry cold so i haven't gotten to use the defroster yet)

My favorite thing about winter is probably the no bug thing too. I hate the cold and the dead trees everywhere. Although, not having to mow the lawn is also high up on the list this year

I don't think i have a hidden talent at all. My dumb party trick as a kid was that i could fit my whole fist in my mouth :p

No, I'm afraid you're the unlucky one getting stuck with me! I always feel like I'm the "needy" G2K panrtner.

Ha! Wrote that about no bugs, and then this afternoon something flew by me when I was feeding the cat. Since we had temps in the teens at night I was thinking everything would have been frozen, but I guess they thawed out with the sunshine today.

I've never heard of not going out a different door than you entered. Is that a Catholic thing or a superstitious person thing?

Coughs can hang around for. ever.

Love your party trick! I can relate, because I used to be able to do it too. I had braces in middle school, and the orthodontist said he'd never seen a mouth as big as mine. It's still pretty big, but for some reason, after the braces I can't fit my fist in there any more. :-(

I have no clue the origin of the door thing...so i used my buddy google and found that it's done so that you don't take the homeowners luck with you when you leave. It also said it's never good to enter a house for the first time through the back door. Odd :p

And i totally get feeling needy--i tried not to post too many times in the prayer folder during our two years of chaos and trials because i hated being the one always begging for stuff. But i think God definitely hears our prayers and loves when we humble ourselves before Him and others to ask for intercession when we're really needing it. Sometimes i'd have to think on the persistent widow and tell God that i was going to keep bugging him...over and over....and over....and over :) So don't feel bad asking for prayers or even venting frustration here :)

I'm going to jump in here. I didn't want to sign up this time since baby is due soon and I didn't want to leave anyone hanging if I drop off the face of the earth after she is born for awhile.

Will post more later, it's after midnight and I really should get off my phone and go to sleep.

Lindy, that whole time you were in your two years of chaos, I was thinking, "She must really be handling this well, she doesn't want to burden us, or she's a very private person." I wanted to ask you about what was going on, but I figured that if you wanted us to know you'd tell us. But you may have done that in the LTP folder, and I don't go there, so...

Anyway, I want to apologize for not coming out and asking you how you were doing then. Being in a similar position now, I know how it feels and I'm sorry I didn't reach out to you. I'm going to try to reach out to anyone in this position from now on. Not just for this situation, but of course it's one that I can relate to.
