I love my Foreman grill! We haven't used the outdoor grill (charcoal, Hubby's fave) but if he feels like stocking up on briquets and lighter fluid to do a meal outside, I'll help prepare it. :)

Oh, and if you're unAmerican because of the indoor grill, you can come hang out with me in Canada. ;) ;)

I'd love to have a pool close enough to splash around. I don't swim well, but I could use the practice and a chance to cool off now and then. I do prefer fresh water (lakes since we're not near the ocean) to chlorinated pools, but I'll take what I can get! I'm not a big water person - yet.

Yay for time off in the summer! My best friend is a teacher so I'm really hoping she'll have a trip "home" soon. There just aren't enough throughout the year!

I don't get the time off but that's because I do have that home-all-the-time situation. Sometimes I could use a break! ;) Usually I just look forward to weekends together (often going for the afternoon to local lakes to wade with the boys) and this year there's a movie date planned with Tim plus Hubby and I should be getting out to the last Harry Potter flick. :) Oh, and we have reading club this year for Tim! Maybe we'll also buy a larger tent so we could all go camping... I haven't gone since I was pregnant with Tim.

Hope you had a great weekend! We took the boys to the nearest lake on Saturday. Next time we'll go somewhere dogs are allowed, but this time we opted for a place with a beach. ;) I had a good time and Hubby pointed out that if I wanted to go during the week, I could put the boys in their lifejackets and supervise their waterplay a bit easier that way. It isn't a long drive, so that might be a good place to take them on hot days!

Today we got to church and MIL visited during an early naptime. Tim had been snoozing with Hubby in the Lazyboy but woke up when MIL called, so they went outside to have their little visit. I actually thought she'd make it inside for a few minutes, so I was indoors washing dishes and tidying up with the excuse of being there for Ben if he woke up. We had a visit with my parents just before supper - we'd gone out for a few groceries and they were over at Sis #2's house just across the village, then finally made their way to see us.

The boys have been a bit crazy tonight, but bathtime helped for a little bit. I'm wondering if they're just the type to need to run around outside more than they're already getting. Or they just both going through similar phases of wanting rough play and their own way rather than what Mum and Dad say...

Yay, half of the week done! Hopefully the rest won't be so busy. Tim did great at speech on Monday and had fun at reading club on Tuesday. Ben's been into everything, very curious and determined to have his own way. Lovely!

Today was a big day of picking up important stuff in various locations - a parcel for BIL and my contacts - but we fit in a short visit with my parents, stocked up on a few groceries, had a yummy simple supper, got the kitchen cleaned and laundry done... Busy but good day!

I'm looking forward to the weekend because I'm hoping to take Tim to the Winnie the Pooh movie, just the two of us! :)

What a busy bee you are! Bummer on having to buy the scrapbooking things again. Too bad there wasn't a friend you could borrow them from for this one project. Maybe you can sell the stuff on EBay when you're done?

One of these days I'm going to start digital scrapbooking or at least learning how to make my own siggies and blinkies. I just snagged Photoshop for that so I'd have more tutorials to work from on the Signature Making for Beginners board.

Not having any troubles getting Tim to take daily laxatives to clear out his system - with the Ex-Lax being chocolate I've got an after-breakfast treat to give him and then he hasn't minded the small Dulcolax pills with lunch. I don't blame him for refusing the earlier strategy of a powdered drink once a week that makes a huge mess. The laxatives are a gentler, more natural way that's allowing him to learn the signal about when he has to go. (He hadn't learned that yet, so potty training has been a slow process!)

Enough talk about poop. ;) Ben's doing well, going through a curious and wannabe-independent toddler stage this week, but he's also so cute and funny! I think we're going to have a lot of fun on our hands as these guys grow. :)

We just have regular stuff planned for tomorrow and the week ahead - church on Sunday (probably while my no-church-for-me Hubby does some extra work at the office), speech therapy Monday morning and reading club Tuesday morning, plus regular housework. I should try to mow Monday or Tuesday afternoon, before the front lawn gets too long but while the boys are napping. (Ben's still not totally happy with the noise of the mower and it's faster when I don't have to worry about watching where they are in the yard or if Ben's going up the steps to the door and waiting for me to follow...)

We should start planning what to do on the next long weekend, a civic holiday at the beginning of August. Maybe we'll buy a family-sized tent and take the boys camping! I may not be as much of an outdoors person as Hubby, but I wanna get away! ;)

I'm glad Claire's having so much fun with the lessons! Tim was scared when we took him at 8 months (I think, must check the photos I have to verify LOL) and did better the next year. We didn't do them last year because we thought Ben was too young in the summer for us to do get them both in back-to-back classes, then we got busy in the fall.

I've got to check soon to see if the fall schedule has been made yet. (A Saturday time for each would be great because Hubby would be able to watch one boy while the other was in the pool.) So far, they both love lake water, though Ben protested about it being cold this last time, until he got acclimated.

Happy early birthday for your hubby's 30th! Very cool outing planned. :)

Hubby's not a churchgoer. I think social functions in general aren't his thing, so he has to know the people first and even then he'd rather it be a short gathering or something outdoors. He's also not big on singing and worship music would be too slow for him. Overall, traditional church services wouldn't suit him at all! I think he needs to meet some Christian metalheads. ;) I usually take the boys with me, especially now that Ben's comfortable with the folks at church and will stay in the nursery without me. (Yay! Recent development!)

BTW, we live here: http://village.fruitvale.bc.ca/ Our hometown is here: http://castlegar.ca/ We're in Western Canada, four hours' drive north of Spokane, WA and eight hours' drive east of Vancouver, BC (yep, the 2010 Olympic city). I thought we had one other CSP mama who's in the Pacific timezone, but now I'm not so sure. Maybe we need a poll on that someday. ;)

How was your weekend? Was Mary Poppins a blast? I was telling my best friend that I don't see enough musicals where we live - she saw "Wicked" recently and loved it. :)

We had a lazy Saturday morning, at least I did. ;) Then we went on our first family geocaching adventure. No "treasure" this time, so I put a package of PB cookies on a bookshelf for an indoor treasure hunt for Tim after naptime. :) In the evening, Hubby and I watched a Harry Potter movie to get ready for today's matinee of the last one. The boys had fun with my parents while we were at the theatre (my first with the new 3D technology). The only thing that wasn't good about our Sunday was my parents nagging us about car repairs and that sending Hubby into a bad mood. Why can't both sets of parents remember we're adults already and can handle our own business? Grrr.

I seem to be getting a bit of a cold, with sniffles and tired eyes. I took my contacts out when we got home from the movie, just so there wouldn't be any problems with them (and to know for sure that they weren't the issue LOL). I have a follow-up with the optometrist on Wednesday and hopefully he'll give the okay for long-term use. (It's only been two weeks.)

I'm hoping to see my best friend again this week. We met for lunch last Wednesday and we're hoping for a longer visit before she heads back to prairie farm life. (And her job as a school teacher.)

Other than that, I can't think of much going on this week. We might be camping next weekend, so we'll have to prepare a list of things to stock up on for that outing. And I'm waiting to hear what my mum's CT scan last Friday shows about her brain activity - one of her docs thinks that the vertigo she's been experiencing is from mini-strokes! Yikes! She has lupus, so it's not beyond reason that the disease would be causing something like that. :(
