I feel much better today.  Dh is on the mend as well.  Julia's cold is slightly lingering, but she is complainin of ear pain now.  I'm afraid she may have an ear infection because of the cold.  So she may be missing school today to go to the dr.  :smileysad:

Wow, it does sound like a busy week for you!

Don't worry about not being around much during September!  We all get busy and can't come post as much sometimes.  It was great chatting with you!!

I usually get pretty messed up at work too when my schedule changes. I put sticky notes on my computer monitor so I wouldn't forget things (like pumping!)

Day 1 of weaning went well. Leah took her bottles from me without much problem, and she didn't seem to notice that there was cows milk mixed in with mommys milk.

I hope you get to feeling better! There is nothing worse than trying to care for kids when you have a headache and weakness. On our end, Leah's cold seems to be better, Andrew never showed signs of it, and I think I'm slowly recovering. I haven't felt the need to find drugs safe for BFing in any case!

I hope you enjoy your time with your friend and coffee! Sounds nice!

Next week is going to be crazy. I have to come in to the office for various things every day (usually on come in MWF). Tuesday I'm giving a guest lecture in a class, so hopefully MIL can babysit the kids. Thurs I have a meeting that I usually have once a month, then one of my friends is going to be in town from OK and she'll be giving a lecture in a hospital near my university, so hopefully she and I can meet for coffee or something. That will qualify as "me time"! DH's birthday is Wednesday, and I'm not done shopping for him yet. No idea when we are rescheduling Leah's birthday party for.

And Sept is almost over! So I apologize for not being a good prayer partner this past month and I hope you enjoy the fall!

Yikes to the messed up day at work.  That would mess my day all up.  I usually have my days pretty scheduled, and it can get confusing when there are big changes.

I am happy to have all of JJ's stuff figured out.  He begins the 5 days a week on Monday, and the extra speech and special ed teacher begin on October 17.

Dh and Julia  both had colds this week.  I had something else.  I had a very sore throat and was sucked of all my energy.  I am feeling better this morning..finally.  My throat still hurts a little, but nothing like before.  I did wake with a small headache though.  I should probably take something before it turns to something worse.

Aww to Leah turning 1!  Time is going by so quickly.  Good luck on the weaning process.  I'm sure it is hard to BF when you have such a busy schedule.

So happy to hear the craziness at work is calming down!  Stress at work can definitely trickle into the home as well.

Today I am babysitting my two extra boys.  I have a friend coming to visit around 11, and she is bringing Dunkin Donuts pumpkin coffee..yummy!  I also need to get some housework done.  I better go take something for my headache and get started with my day.  :smileyhappy:

I meant to reply yesterday but the day totally got away from me. Two of my regular meetings were cancelled, and I had two different ones instead, so it was a strange day.

Even though it sounds like JJ will have a lot of different classes and stuff, it sounds like a relief to have it all in place. And its going well? So glad!

Yes, it is so nice to have an honest dr. There aren't many of those it seems. We both went on Tuesday - it turns out that my sprain last Thurs was a doozy so I get to go for another follow-up in 2 weeks.

So the stomach flu seems to have left our house, but now 3 of us have colds (me, DH, Leah). Leah is kinda fussy about it, but she doesn't have a fever (once she hit 99, then it dropped) and she's not demonstrating any ear infection symptoms. She has a well visit next week so that's good.

Today Leah turns 1, and so I'm going to start weaning her gradually. I'm sure she'll do fine with it. Its bittersweet for me though - BFing is a lot of work, but I really enjoy it in the morning and before bed. But I can't keep those up - in Nov, I have to take a trip, and so Leah will have to be used to bottles 100% of the time.

I better get back to work. I'm working from home today, but I have to do a conference call later of course try to keep up with all the craziness at work. Its calming down a bit.

JJ has been off eye drops since last Monday, and it hasn't come back.  I'm praying hard for it to stay away.

The stress level is definitely lower now that all the plans for the future are made.  JJ starts the 5 days a week next week, then everything else starts in mid October.  It gives him time to get used to the new speech therapist twice a week before it bumps up to three times, and also it will get him used to going to school more often before the special ed teacher starts working with him.

If the chiro says you don't need to come back, you know you have an honest dr!  That is awesome!!

Oh no to everybody being sick.  JJ has never thrown up, but Julia has had a couple of tummy bugs.  One of her worst ones was actually last Christmas.  It was horrible.  She had to keep a vomit bucket with her all day.  :smileysad:

Oh no to being over worked again!  I can imagine how hard it must be.  Prayers that everything get resolved!

Yikes, surgery for that thing on JJ's eye? Poor little guy! I hope it stays away!

I imagine you are so overwhelmed by all the stuff working out JJ's teaching plan, but it sounds like there is a plan at least, and it sounds like people really care. That's good. I hope it works soon!

Our chiro is great. This will sound funny, but he doesn't really want us to come back. My problems are pretty much resolved (other than my ankle). DH's hips are pretty bad and the chiro is just trying to prolong surgery. He's a Christian too. I think some people look at us funny when we talk about going to the chiro for my ankle and DH's hips, but we've been feeling so much better and we really trust the guy.

This weekend was crazy. When I got home from work, Andrew woke up from his nap puking, and he spent the whole evening (Friday) puking. Poor guy - he had never been sick before, so he was freaked out. He couldn't hold anything down. So we cancelled Leah's birthday party. Saturday he was a lot better - he was hungry, he held everything down, and his energy was mostly back. DH never puked but he just felt awful. He survived his football game though. Both DH and I still feel under the weather and we don't have our appetites back fully. Fortunately, Leah never got it. She had one yucky diaper but everything else was fine, so that's good.

I don't know why its so hard to fire someone here. I even said that in one of my meetings with HR - I said in the "real world" you can just fire someone that isn't producing. I did get an email later from the HR lady saying that I could detail all the training, etc that we had done already, so I didn't have to still provide more training if it wasn't working. So maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm starting to get frustrated for lack of help again. SIL has a couple of paying babysitting jobs now (in addition to her teaching job, and this is the first time she actually has to prepare lesson plans), so she has no time. MIL lives close and is retired, but she has no idea how to manage her time. I think she goes to the bank and pharmacy twice a day every day (I know that doesn't sound right but that's how she makes it sound). My parents offered to come over and help occasionally and never followed through. My mom just took 2 weeks off of work and you would think I could find a day to take the kids over there so I could get some work done and she could play with the kids? Nope. She has something going almost every day. I seriously want to hire someone to clean my house because I'm so behind on cleaning and I know DH would never go for that. Ugh. I'm just doing too much and I have no idea how to make it better.

The dr thinks he may have a Chalazion in his eye that isn't going away.  If it does not go away on it's own, they want to surgically remove it.  So far it has not come back.  Praying that it stays away.

The teaching in only on Wednesday nights.  The teacher now says she comes in about an hour early before class, and that is all the extra time she has to commit to it.  I could do that.

Oh no to injuring your ankle again and to the process of firing that employee.  I never knew there was a long process involved with that.

Yikes to being sick, but woohoo for the important lunch!  That is great that she was bragging about you!

Glad to hear dh's hips are holding up!  That is neat that he already knows a good chiro to go to.  Dh went to one last year that was just money hungry.  He is going to start a new one soon.  Actually, he is the father of the boys I babysit for.  :smileyhappy:

I have the final results and education plan for JJ.  He was found to have a severe delay in speech, a moderate delay in cognitive and adaptive skills, and a mild social/emotional delay.  We are going to up his preschool from twice a week, to Mon - Fri 9 - 11:30.  Three times a week he will have a special ed teacher come to his class for an hour for one on one time.  He will also be getting speech therapy at home three times a week instead of twice. It is nice to finally have it all figured out, but it also a little sad to know how many delays he has.  I'm praying this plan of attack works.  If not, next school year we are enrolling him into a full time special ed preschool.

WOW you have a lot going on! I missed some of the posts on fb about JJ's eye. Its better now, right? Why would he need surgery?

What is involved with that teaching? Will it be fun and/or a lot of work!

I also saw that JJ's teacher for his speech/language issues left. Did you get a new one yet? How is that going?

Things are generally crazy for me. Let's see... yesterday I sprained my ankle again for the 3rd time in 2 months. It was actually doing much better - I saw the chiro a couple weeks ago and he wrapped it and gave me some exercises to do - so when I reinjured it, it came as a total surprise. And I wasn't doing anything strenuous - just getting Buster pug to go potty outside.

We're still working on tryign to fire that employee of mine. I think its going to be a nightmare of a process. Now that I've finally initiated the formal process, they are asking for training opportunities, a timeline, etc. I really hope all my previous documentation will suffice because I want to move on with my life!

Today I'm super tired because I was up puking half the night. No idea why. DH never got sick, but he was queasy (though maybe hearing me had something to do with that). Leah and Andrew seemed fine this morning. Yes, I came into work even though I barely slept, because I had lunch with the Dean and you don't pass up those opportunities. She actually knew a lot about me and was even bragging on me! So that was kinda cool.

DH and his hips are so far surviving the football season. He did make a bonus appt with the chiro a couple weeks ago and has another one coming up. Did I mention that our chiro is the team doctor for one of the teams DH will be offiicating in a couple of weeks? So if DH needs work, he can get it!

Sorry that's a lot. This has been a busy week with all that I described above, so sorry I coudln't reply sooner.

Don't worry about it at all.  I know you are very busy and had planned on taking a break from prayer partners.  So I really didn't expect you to come post.  Happy surprise for me.  :smileyhappy:

A quick recap:  I am watching JJ's eye closely.  If it starts getting red and swollen again, he will be recommended to an eye dr and possibly need surgery.  I am the new assistant to the teacher at JJ's Wednesday nights Rainbows class.  Next year I will become the teacher if I choose to.  I have a meeting on Friday to discuss JJ's treatment plan for his speech and developmental delays.  It's a crazy week.

How are you doing?
