Hi Leona! Sorry my reply has taken a little while I've been busy the last couple days.

Glad you had a good time on your trip. :D It's so nice to get away for awhile! I don't think I'll be having any real time away until June when my brother graduates high school. I'm going to go spend the weekend at my parent's place and leave the kids with DH since I'm sure toddlers + evening graduation service would = disaster. ;)

Gabe's cough is no longer croupy. It was only croupy for that one day and it was better by the evening. I definitely think it was a croupy cough now after hearing some examples of croup online. Thanks for the tip on cool moist air, though! I'm glad it didn't get worse, I was all prepared for a very rough night but he didn't cough much at all and it stopped sounding croupy. He still has a yucky productive sounding cough though, as does Elena. They have coughing fits all night long. I feel bad for them but there isn't much I can do besides baby Vicks and a steam humidifier. Both the kids still have snotty noses as well, I'm just waiting for it to pass. Hopefully soon. DH has caught it now, too.

I had a friend come over yesterday for a visit, it was so nice! She wasn't scared off by sick kids, lol. She has a 9 month old who is just adorable. The kids played together and we got to chat. It was lovely spending time with another adult!
My mom is coming out to visit this weekend and I can't wait. I haven't seen her in a couple months now.

Any plans for this weekend?

Hi Leona! Sorry again for the delay in response. My mom was visiting this weekend so I wasn't on the computer hardly at all.

How did the trip to the granite yard go? Did you find what you wanted? How did your magpie do? ;)

I sure hope the kids are getting better...they are both still snotty and have mild coughs but I *think* it's getting better. The last couple nights were rough and I didn't get much sleep at all. We've been doing some sleep training with Gabe so in the meantime we put Elena back in the PNP in our room so it wouldn't disturb her. But she kept waking up wanting to be in our bed, and then she wouldn't go back to sleep and wanted to play. 2am is not playtime! They are both back in their cribs tonight, praying they both STTN.

No worries, I understand being busy! I have been checking in to see if you posted, but even if you had I wouldn't have had the time to reply.

Love the granite you've picked out! I love dark granite. A dream of mine someday is to re-do my kitchen with a counter-top similar to that. For now it's that glue-on type stuff. ;) It's also a shade of blue I'm not fond of. Whoever designed this house (it was a manufactured home lot model so we didn't get to pick the colors) had an obsession with blue. Blue counter tops, blue carpet, the outside of the house is blue, the linoleum has blue in it...I like blue but it's way too much! It will look a million times better when we can get the carpet ripped up and put down hardwood. We have the wood, we just need the time to do it. DH will need help from his dad and it's hard to coordinate when both of them have the spare time. I think it will likely get done this summer. The only nice thing about the carpet so far is that it's keeping Elena from giving herself a major head injury since she's furniture cruising a lot more and starting to attempt steps. Today she smacked her head right on the metal stripping that overlays where the carpet and the hardwood in the dining room meet and now she has a not pretty bruise on her poor forehead.

I will definitely be praying for Shayne's schedule to change so that he can be home to celebrate Robert's birthday and be home for Easter weekend.

I'm hoping to get up to a used appliance shop sometime this week to get ourselves a 'new' washer. We have a FLing machine (low end but has always cleaned our clothing well enough) but I want to go back to a top loading machine for our cloth diapers. Ever since we switched to cloth 4 months ago (or maybe 5?) I have struggled with getting them clean enough and I've come to the conclusion after trying several different detergents, wash routines, and additives like oxyclean and bac-out and vinegar that it is just all my washer's fault. It doesn't use enough water and the way that a FLing machine cleans just isn't going to do the job. My diapers need an agitator. DH thinks I'm a bit crazy to replace our washer just to keep cloth diapering but I'm not giving up on cloth after buying all of the diapers. I am pretty sure we can sell our current washer for the cost of a decent used top loading machine. And I love cloth diapers. They are so fun for me, almost like a hobby. It's probably a good thing that we don't have a lot of money to spend on diapers because I'd probably just keep buying new ones just because they have cute colors/prints. I just want our diapers to not stink anymore. It's really frustrating! I strongly suspect our water and electricity bills will actually go down once we replace the washer (they went up quite a bit shortly after the switch). I have to run so many cycles just to get one load 'clean' (which is never enough) and currently have to pour extra water into my machine since the machine itself won't add enough. That's hardly cost effective or 'energy saving'.

Also, a prayer request -

Could you please pray for Gabe & Elena's coughs to go away?
