Its been a hectic week here as well! Unfortunately, my cough did get worse, and I've also started experiencing some moderate back and knee pain. I need to find time to see a chiropractor. I've also been trying to rest when possible, which is nearly impossible. Fortunately, Leah hasn't gotten it, but Andrew has started coughing

Work is getting even more crazy, and I'm falling even more behind. I need to get more help with the kids so I can catch up on work. I've been through this before with DH and it never seems to get anywhere - sigh.

Tomorrow I need to sing at some mission thingie at church. Then DH has something going on the rest of the day, so it will be another busy day.

Glad to hear you got some adult time! I'm jealous! DH and I really need to coordinate schedules with my parents so we can get a dinnner out. We have a gift card to use.

Goodness, it's been a busy week! Sunday was fun with a lunch date and then a matinee showing of The Lucky One, time in the park with the boys and takeout for supper. Monday I took the boys to a white sturgeon release in my hometown and we also got to meet Canadian celebrity Rick Hansen. (I don't remember when he was here 25 years ago and my kids won't remember this visit either, but we have photos and signed souvenirs now. LOL)

Tuesday was preschool and getting a gift ready for our last Bible study session, where we celebrated our pastor's wife's birthday. I ran back and forth working on supper preparations and the gift, then left for the church early so we'd have time to celebrate a little before digging into the study materials.

Wednesday and Thursday were catch-up cleaning days, plus we spent part of Thursday morning doing a big shopping trip. One of the stores is a mess during renovations and an upcoming switchover to a different chain, so it took a while to find the items on my list.

Also had dinner out yesterday as a surprise party for my oldest sis, who turns 40 on Monday. Hubby stayed home with the boys and I had fun being out on my own but was happy to get home!

I cleaned this morning and took the boys to the library, but haven't been as motivated to continue being active. Guess I'm slowing down and relaxing finally. ;)

Hope the cough didn't get too much worse and you've felt good this week!

Hi Becca! Hope you had a great weekend!

Its helpful to hear how your boys are doing in their stages of potty training. Andrew is a few months older than Ben (Andrew turns 3 in May!) and seems to be in the same place as him. That's reassuring.

My weekend was a blur, but I got through it. Saturday I wasn't able to get any work done - Andrew and Leah's naps only overlapped by 20 min, and I needed that time to take the dogs outside and do a tiny bit of cleaning. I tried to do some work reading when they went to bed, but my brain was mush. Sunday I managed to get a little bit of work done. I tried not to worry about it too much, but I'm so behind on work, I felt like I had to do at least a little.

DH didn't earn the patch that he set out for, so that means he'll be doing this again in the near future! But probably only Sunday, so that will make life a little easier.

Since I've never had my hair cut in a salon, I've never had a wash to accompany it. I totally know what you mean about the full-serve thing!

So now I'm coming down with something :( I started with a cough and felt something in my throat yesterday, then by the time I got home, I had really awful hemrrhoids (sorry for the tmi - I need prayer though!) I even went to bed before Dancing with the Stars was over, and I NEVER do that. In bed by 9:40 I think! Hopefully today will be better.

Oh, and happy anniversary!

All right, back after getting Ben cleaned up and handing him a tiny treat (one M&M). I also get him to put on his own pull-up and pants as often as I remember. He still needs a bit of help, but practice is better than having the mother trained to dress him until he gets to school-age. ;)

I hope your weekend goes well! We've been getting the boys in our fenced back yard as often as the weather allows. It really helps use up some of the energy, and with the gate locked, I feel better about going inside to wash dishes or put on more laundry. It was so warm and sunny yesterday afternoon that I spent about ten minutes using a tree stump as a chair while I read a new book for review. (We have camping chairs for sitting out, but they were in the shed from the last rain and I didn't want to get them out for a few minutes. We need to get an adult picnic table someday soon so it isn't just the boys who sit comfortably for an outside meal...)

I need to work on a gift for the pastor's wife, probably tonight and tomorrow night since we have a community event to attend on Monday in my hometown. Her birthday was last week and we're going to bring cake and cards, plus I'm going to put together any Bible verses the ladies email me, to make a little booklet of verses to encourage the pastor's wife. So far I've only received verses from the lady who thought up the booklet and asked me to do the copying, pasting and printing. I should be brainstorming my own verse contributions so there are at least two people contributing. ;) I have a hole punch somewhere and ribbons, plus I'll look for clipart of yellow roses to add to the document. Should be pretty when it's done!

I'm going to see about a quick morning nap, then I need to shower and go off to the hair appt. I'm thinking I'll skip the washing this time 'cause it's been almost a year since my last trim and I might feel weird about someone else washing my hair for me. (Like full-serve gas. What's up with that? I just get out and pump for myself since I have two capable hands. LOL)

Have a great weekend and try not to think about your work load for a little while. You need to relax with the kids (or on your own if there's an opportunity) so you can be refreshed for the next work week!

I haven't been able to get a lot of details about the Kingdom Parables book, so I don't see an age group listed. Here's the Amazon page: http://www.amazon.com/Kingdom-Parables-Favorite-Bible-Children/dp/1564762750 All 4 user reviews are high, which is a bit of a help. It needs a new printing...

Tim's 4 1/2 at the end of this month, then Ben's 2 1/2 at the start of June. We started Ben in January, but I haven't been as regular with the training because of Tim's "relapse" into laziness. I do find that Tim doesn't want me checking him and will often run to the bathroom rather than have me pull down his pants, so if I just remember to do it often, especially after meals and if I even *think* that I smell something... And lately Ben starts getting stinky at the same time, so Tim has to be quick to let Ben have the toilet. We're still doing rewards for anything that makes it in the toilet under their own power. (Last night Ben wasn't pushing much, so I wiped him up and told him that without the "plop," there was no treat. LOL) Tim gets a stern talk and usually a time-out as well if he does make a mess in his pants because we know he's old enough and capable of keeping clean, he just needs to work on not being lazy! Ben's not there yet, so he's still on the reward-only system.

Must go check Ben's progress in the bathroom - he likes his privacy...

I think Andrew's sniffles might have also been a case of mild allergies. I'm glad they passed quickly.

This has been a very crazy week. I haven't even had the opportunity to talk to DH about the work stress that's weighing on me, and considering he doesn't work outside the home, that's pretty weird. We talk all the time, but I haven't gotten to talk to him about what's bothering me, short of "we need a date night"! My work load is out of control.

On top of that, DH is going to be away all weekend - he may even get a hotel Sat/Sun night. I was going to go to my parents' house with the kids on Sat to give them a change of scenery, but my parents need to go an event Sat, so that leaves me with the kids all day Sat. That will be hard. Andrew gets stir crazy sometimes so I'm trying to come up with some creative ideas. Pray for me!

That Kingdom parables sound interesting - what age is that appropriate for?

Your weekend sounds lovely - I hope you get some quality time with your hubby!

So what ages are your boys? Andrew hasn't made any new strides with potty training. Yesterday I couldn't catch him pooping before he went in his diaper, and I need to teach him to pee on the toilet and not his diaper. Grr. I need to find time to read up on that more....

I'm glad Andrew didn't have more than chapped lips. Whew!

My guys were coughing and sneezing a bit last week, then were good on the weekend. I wonder if they might have some mild allergies.

I'm feeling pretty much back to normal just as AF appears to be leaving. Yay! ;) Yesterday afternoon I had lost almost all motivation and energy. I ended up doing the necessary baking and then putting on the newest Muppets movie to watch with the boys. And because of a headache, I wasn't even online during that time. "Drastic" measures. ;) ;)

Still working on getting the boys to the bathroom at the right time. Tim just made it to 4 consecutive clean days and then had a lazy moment today. *Sigh* Meanwhile I finally got Ben to sit on the toilet when his pull-up had stayed dry, so hopefully he'll remember that feeling and make me take him to the bathroom. ;)

I have my hair appt scheduled for Saturday morning. Maybe we'll get out and do something after lunch or take a picnic lunch somewhere! Still waiting to see what movie options there are for Sunday so we can have an anniversary date. (Must call the parents for babysitting availability!) Otherwise if the weather's good, maybe we can just go for a hike or walk somewhere like we did back in the college days...

I'm listening to Air1 today and a book was mentioned that I want to get before the kids grow up: Kingdom Parables (Christopher Lane). The DJ on right now was talking about it being Bible parables with animals as the main characters. Sounds neat!

Not much else in my brain at the moment, but hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with more interesting things to say. ;)

Andrew's symptoms resolved very quickly. The day after his supposed sore throat, DH realized it hurt to drink because his skin around his mouth and lips were chapped. So a little chapstick and aquaphor fixed that! Andrew gets sick so infrequently that he doesn't know how to deal with it when he feels a little under the weather - he clearly gets that from his dad!

I hope you enjoy your haircut and head massage when you get it! I literally have only had my hair done once in a salon, and that was a few years ago when I wanted to try coloring my hair and my mom was afraid to try it on her own. She was a beautician before she was a nurse, but she was nervous anyway. I haven't colored or highlighted my hair since I got pregnant with Andrew - just no time!

Looks like this will be another crazy week. I have extra meetings at work, some of which haven't been scheduled yet. My dad, who is retired, is bored and looking for projects, so he'll be coming over sometime this week to help DH organize the garage. That means I'll have to keep Andrew out of the way. I have praise team practice, and we decided its too much to worry about Andrew at church on those nights, so we'll alternate weeks and DH can go to bible study next week.

Glad to hear your AF is treating you better. Before I got married and started birth control, AF was terrible to me. After Andrew was born, I decided not to go back on birth control, and I've been doing surprisingly well. My endocrinologist is happy that I'm not on the pill so that's a good sign too.

have a great week!

My brain isn't feeling terribly smart the past couple days, but I wanted to pop in here so you have something to read. ;)

Hubby did his haircut tonight since we have a clipper and I mentioned about getting myself a spring cut, so now I have to remember this coming week to make an appt for next Saturday. The boys will hang out with Hubby and I'll get to rid myself of a few inches of hair, maybe even pay for the wash (since it feels like a scalp massage).

Praying that everyone is feeling well at your house. I should take a couple more pills to keep away headaches, but otherwise AF treats me well compared to the way it used to be. I don't have a good history with her, but I recently asked my doc to switch my birth control and things are looking up! Silly hormones... ;)

Have a great Sunday!

I'm back! I hope AF isn't treating you too badly! I don't miss her at all - haven't had one since Dec 2010. I hope you caught up on your rest after the holiday too.

I hope you get some "me time" too with your hair appointment. My mom has always done my hair, so I never get that specific opportunity. My MIL got me some gift cards to the salon last year, so maybe I'll try to get a pedi this year. Ha ha we'll see.

Andrew seems to be coming down with a cold. Yesterday he had the sniffles and was having a hard time drinking from his sippy cup. He woke in the middle of the night and DH tended to him. DH asked him specific questions about what hurt, and Andrew said that his throat hurt. DH didn't think to ask about ears though. I wonder if his congestion was giving him a hard time with the sippy cup. Leah isn't showing signs of anything yet. We'll see how that goes.

DH and I planned to go shopping this weekend to a store that sells our planner supplies. There was one near my parents' house, so we were going to drop the kids off there. Unfortunately, the store closed. DH is going to be gone all next weekend, so I'm postponing my trip to the parents' house until that weekend. No date for DH and me though :( Maybe we'll try for next month.

have a great weekend!
