Woohoo!!! It's almost fall!!! I hope that you ladies have a great time getting to know each other better over the next couple of months :)

Here are a couple of questions to get you started:

Do the leaves change color where you live?

Are there any special fall events or festivals that you're looking forward to doing?

Wow Glenda, that's terrible that you have to deal with it, but it helps to have become an "expert".

It's really not that much to deal with.

Hm, well there doesn't seem to be a 'reply all' option anymore like you two mentioned. I don't like that.

Disclaimer: I didn't proof-read this because it's getting too late.

Here are my updates...

We made another bit of progress in the eating department with Gabe. He actually took an apple slice and put it in his mouth an took BITES. He then made funny faces and spit the bites out, but he kept repeating that. It's clearly a texture issue. He likes the taste enough to keep putting the apple back in his mouth but doesn't want to chew the bites he takes off. He also is very interested in the plums in the fruit basket right now. Unfortunately he won't really eat them...I noticed today that several had teeth marks in them. He bites them and puts them back. lol.

Going off your concern over talking Cathy, I've also been getting a little concerned. Gabe knows several words, but the only ones he's been using consistantly in the last few weeks are 'Dada' and 'Mama' - and he only says mama when he's crying or whining. Never to just get my attention. He used to say 'sister' and 'dog' but I realized yesterday I haven't heard them in awhile. He still says 'yes' or 'yeah' in response to a question, but not consistantly. He used to say 'down' or 'done' when done eating (they both sound the same, so not sure which one he's really saying) but now he doesn't anymore, he just starts whining. It sort of feels like a regression, yet on the other hand he 'talks' all.day.long. He will talk to me like it's a full on sentence and like I should understand it, but it's all just babble to me. If I ask him what he's trying to tell me, he'll repeat what he just said - it sounds exactly the same, but again it's all just babble. Then he gets frustrated because I don't understand what he's trying to tell me. Obviously it means something to him, but it makes no sense at all. I don't know how normal this is, maybe it's very normal and I just don't know. I am going to ask his ped about it at his upcoming 18 month appointment.

A quick prayer for me, I seem to have hurt my ankle. I noticed yesterday evening it was a bit painful and I couldn't sit cross-legged (which is how I often sit). Didn't pay much attention to it, then this morning I glanced down and noticed that my right ankle looked awfully puffy compared to my left ankle. I have a pretty swollen bump above my right ankle bone. I very vaguely remember twisting my ankle a few months ago. I can't remember when or how...I blame it on mommy brain. I also *think* I remember my ankle looking puffy like this afterword, but again the memory is so vague it's really hard to pinpoint. I guess I assumed it was just a sprain and would get better, and it must have gotten better or I wouldn't have forgotten about it. I think I must have re-injured it yesterday somehow, though I don't know what I did. Dh was concerned about how puffy it is and wanted me to go into the doctor but that seemed silly to me. If it's just a sprain they won't do much. It really didn't hurt much at first, I have been walking just fine, it's mostly just sore to the touch. I spent most of the day on my feet though and by this evening it was more swollen and becoming painful to walk on. I have it elevated right now and have ice on it to see how that helps. I guess maybe I should get it looked at, but I need to arrange babysitting. I don't mind going to the doctor, it's finding someone to watch both kids for me so I can go.

We went to a friend's house today to celebreate her son's 1st birthday. It was so much fun! Gabe had a great time since there were a lot of kids there and he even ate a bit of pizza (and of course he ate cake...he ate like 1/2 the piece! Ohhh the sugar rush!). DH and I got to socalize with friends and Gabe got to run around playing. Elena was super smiley and a total ham, lol. I'm so glad we went. The birthday boy was ADORABLE and he really tore into his cake, it was so much fun to watch. Gabe was afraid of his 1st cake so we don't have any fun covered in frosting pictures, lol. I also learned that getting Gabe a Handy Manny work bench is not a good idea. I was wondering if he'd want something like that for Christmas because he likes Handy Manny, but when I turned my friend's on and it started talking he was afraid of it. So we'll take that off our list, haha.

Gabe is very restless tonight, I don't know why, maybe it's the leftover sugar rush. He's keeps waking up and fussing which is very unlike him. Dh went in to see if he lost his paci but he still has it. I feel bad but don't know how to help him. He hasn't been crying, I'd go in there if he was crying but he just fusses and then goes back to sleep.

I better go to bed, it's after 11. I'm going to be tired tomorrow!

This is SO frustrating...not being able to "reply all." What's also annoying is that I got a dozen or more e-mails when people posted after me on "roll call."

I'll be praying for your ankle and for someone to watch your kids while you get it looked at.

I can understand. I like the quick reply and skipping all those steps when posting, but trying to read posts is a pain!
