Woohoo!!! It's almost fall!!! I hope that you ladies have a great time getting to know each other better over the next couple of months :)
Here are a couple of questions to get you started:
Do the leaves change color where you live?
Are there any special fall events or festivals that you're looking forward to doing?

Hi Glenda!
Cathy, glad you're back safe and sound from your trip.
If I ever find spare time, I need to look into that Bible quiz program and see if they do something similar around here. It sounds so good.
Wow that's crazy about the storms. Amazing how our lives turn upside down when we have just a few minutes of severe weather,
Having another weird week. I don't normally go into the office on Thursdays except for a random meeting, but I've been appointed to another committee (surprise!) so I have to go interview a faculty candidate. Between my standing meeting, this interview, and the presentation, that's pretty much my whole day. I can stay home to make breakfast and that's it. Next week I'm going out of town again for work - this will be my longest away from Andrew (4 days).
Leah, hope all is well with you!
I do'nt think I got an email alert on this message - oh well.
well, october is almost over, so it looks like we'll be switching prayer partners again. Its been great G2K you both (again)!

Thanks for sharing about Gabe's 18 month appointment, particularly about the speech thing. I hear more and more people that say their kids were "delayed" - I almost wonder if they need to revise the standards!
Andrew has been saying "mom mom mom" a lot lately. At first I didn't know if he knew what it meant, but DH said that when I was out of town, he said it but in a more whiny way, like he missed me. He also is very good at communicating what he wants (with grunt and point - we understand him!) and he follows directions well and understands new words every day. We are always surprised by what he understands.
I forgot to mention about the diaper thing - I had some size 5's laying around from my baby shower, and so I've been putting those on Andrew overnight, and he's back to sleeping through the night.
Glenda, I think you gave me your stomach bug! Yesterday evening I was really achy but didn't know why, and then during the night I vomited. I was stupid and used the bathroom by Andrew's room, but he didn't hear me, but DH did! Then I couldn't sleep well all night even though I wasn't nauseous anymore. Today I have barely any appetite. I stopped at the grocery store on my way to work to get some ginger ale but I'm just doing that as a precaution. I'm running a low grade fever (99). I'm still not sure if I should have stayed home from work, but I figured if I stayed home, I wouldn't be able to rest, and I might get Andrew sick. Now I just feel achy - no fun.

Thanks for your prayers ladies - it turned out to only be a 24 hour bug!
Glad you are feeling better Cathy and that Andrew didn't catch your bug. I hope the day goes well despite Andrew not sleeping well. Apparently (according to the baby whisperer forums I've been visiting occasionlly) there is another sleep regression around 18 ish months. We've definitely seen this with Gabe. We were having issues with him taking over an hour to fall asleep every night. A few nights he was awake for 2 hours. He wasn't crying or even fussing, he was playing. Partially to blame was his crib soother so we took it out, he was too tempted to play with it instead of sleep. It took him a couple weeks, but he's finally starting to fall asleep within 15 minutes or so. I think we are 'supposed' to be shooting for 11 - 12 hours of sleep at night, but Gabe struggles with that. If they take longer naps though, I'm not sure that much sleep at night is necessary. Gabe is averaging more like 10.5 hours at night. Last night he really surprised me, he slept 11.5 hours. But he did wake up a couple times so it probably works out to about the same.
We purchased one of those glow worms to replace Gabe's crib soother, that should arrive soon. I'm excited, lol. I hope it doesn't cause the same problem as the crib soother, though. We've been using a dim lamp, because he doesn't like falling asleep in a dark room, but if I forget to turn the lamp off before I go to bed he will wake up in the middle of the night or early in the morning when he stirrs. We also got a breathable
