Big hugs, Kari!

My only advice is to pray through this. I know I need to do more of that myself. I tend toward the annoyingly optimistic approach to life but I'm still not letting God take the driver seat all the time. I need to be honest with God in my prayers and rely on His strength, His plans and His timing.

Praying for you and wishing I could be there with you for some face-to-face encouragement!

Hi Kari!! So nice to see you back here!
I agree to keep praying through this, and we will pray with you. I am often in the same shoes. I worry about money mostly, and I really shouldn't because God always gets us through. I often need to remember to let go and let God too. *hugs*

Hi Kari!

((((((hugs))))) It really is hard to let go of fears. They comfort us because we think that if we just think it through wnough we'll plan a way to avoid whatever it is. However that sets us up as little gods in and of ourselves, making it sin. confess it out to God as many times as it takes, you know He's willing. While you are doing that stay in His Word! read, read, read! Allow it to transform your mind. (Romans 12 - I can't rememver the verse, sorry) Ask him to give you the peace that surpasses all understanding (Phil 4:7) That means it over rides your natural thoughts which in this case are fearful. I think that for soem of us it's a lesson that we have to learn over and over. But if you seek His kingdom first He'll fit all the rest of the pieces together. Think through this. Who knows more about all the surrounding information, you or God? Who has the ability to change things you or God? lastly... have you ever been through something that was really bad that you never would have wished but came out on the other side better off for it? God sometimes allows stuff but just like you may allow your little one to make a mistake to learn a lesson, you wont allow them to ruin themselves. God can see more than we can and He loves us more than we are capable of loving. He won't allow you to be damaged. Focus on how much He loves you. (((((hugs)))) now, go get reading! (but come back soon) oh, and don't forget the enemy know how to work you so that you take your eyes off of Christ. He takes advantage of that every time he can. Think about 1 Pet. 5:8 and how a lion in the wilderness studies it's prey, watching, learning it's advantages. Our enemy does that by knowing what fears we have and reminding us of them all the time. Be aware of that so that you can recognize potential "traps" (be careful little eyes/ears what you hear on the news that probably will never happen to you). I hope this is helpful to you. i't something I re-learn over and over too!

I think I would start by first praising God daily upon waking up...even if you don't feel like it. Also, read the Bible daily. The only way that you can increase your faith is by hearing/reading the Word of God. God told us not to worry and he also told us not to be afraid, so I guess there really is no reason to worry or be afraid. :)

I'm going to keep this in mind as I go to bed tonight. Praising God when I wake up sounds like an excellent way to start the day! A spiritual stretch before I get out of bed, just the physical one I usually do!

I think this is something many Christians struggle with.

Totally with you on the learning. I like how you phrased that about not waiting. We need to claim that promise now, let it encourage and excite us. None of this chafing at not having it all down yet! ;)

You definitely have a blessing in a husband grounded in Christ. I don't have that and although mine supports me having faith in something, he just doesn't believe himself that this is the truth, the one way. That makes a difference in how we view life and each other!
