I don't think my mum meant to hurt me either.

Luckily my Mom meant no offense. She started at barely 23 and ended at 32. 32 at that time was REALLY old to be bearing children. I was rather embarrassed that she was pregnant as I recall.

My mum was giving me slightly rude comments with my first pregnancy, not realising they weren't helping! Just because she started having kids at 22 and ended at 30 did not give her the right to think I was too old at 29. :P ;)

Yes, I'm not sure of the reason for going back in two weeks. With Leslie I know my first appt. was at about 5 weeks, and there was no heart beat yet, so they did have me come back two weeks later. I assumed it was just to give enough time for growth so that they could see the heart beat and embryo. They also have you see the midwife for the first appt., then two weeks later is when you first see a physician. After that you only go once a month. So either it's just standard practice to come two weeks later, or as my Mom suggested, maybe it's because I'm of advanced maternal age. I just love that term. ;-)

Yay for a good appt and seeing the heartbeat! :)

Going back in two weeks sounds early for the first semester appts. Mine were always four weeks apart at that point. That should give you time to figure out the insurance beginning and the new OB. I'll be praying for an easy search!

I had a good appt. today! The baby's heart rate was at 144, which she said was very good. I am measuring two days behind what I'd estimated, so the due date was moved from 11/23 to 11/25. They did an ultrasound, and it was hard to make out a baby shape, but I did see the flickering heart beat. I remember with Leslie I had a hard time making it out, but it was easier to see this time for some reason. I am supposed to go back in two weeks, but I don't know if I'll be able to. It'll depend on whether or not Erik's new insurance is in effect. Soon I need to start looking for an OB in Alabama. I am still not having any sickness, except for this bad cold or allergies or whatever it is.

I will be praying for you. The stress from the move and pregnancy is probably taking a toll on your body. HUGS!

I'm feeling pretty good, though I do have a lot of fatigue. But a lot of that is because I'm not sleeping well with the impending move. Anyway, I'm still not having any sickness or anything yucky like that. My first dr. appt. is next Wednesday. I am guessing they'll do an ultrasound to get the baby's size and determine the official due date, and hopefully we'll see/hear the heart beat! We are moving this Friday, but I'm coming back here for this first appt. That way I've got a month or so to find a dr. in the new city.
