We love Thanksgiving, and Killian's 2nd birthday is on the 12th, so we're even more excited for his "fire truck" party. We find out in a few weeks what this new one is (I can't stand not knowing!) and hopefully I'll have a good name that everyone is happy with. I think I probably have an anterior placenta again, because I definitely don't feel this baby move at all. With the first two, I could totally distinguish their movements by now, but with this one I'm sure I've not felt him/her move once. I'm hoping all is well, despite the no movement!

Awe fire truck party! How fun! The waiting to find out gender is soooooo hard! Any guesses based on your symptoms? Are the same as the boys or different?

I pray everything is going smoothly in there! I want to reassure you that with my #3 I did not feel much movement the entire pregnancy because her placenta was anterior- meaning on the front. That keeps you from feeling nearly as much. I didn't start feeling anything until 25+ weeks and only really felt much when baby was real big- like week 30/32+ - then I could feel the nudges & rolls on the sides but still not the front.

Had my 24 week appointment yesterday, long but uneventful. I got there, drank the nasty glucose drink which this time was at least not as thick :) Had my appointment, then out to the waiting room for the rest of the hour & blood draw.

Basics: I gained 2 lbs for a total of 11lbs so far & glucose tolerance was fine. My iron was barely 'low' at 10.9 instead of 11 as the minimum. Normally my iron is oddly high (like 15) so it might be a bigger difference than I think but really not worried. IMHO it's probably just because I hadn't eaten anything LOL

Go back in 4 weeks and after that it's every 2 weeks!

We love Thanksgiving! I am so looking forward to it. This year I *may* be cooking Thanksgiving dinner for my brother. My mom works and my dad works the day after so them visiting isn't feasable. My brother (who is 18) was complaining about not having a proper Thanksgiving dinner because my mom has to work. So I offered for him to come out here. We are not very close and I would love this oppertunity for us to get to know each other better. He said he wants to come so I hope he does!

Rachel, I love the fire truck party idea, that is great! I also want to second Angie that it might be an anterior placenta that is blocking movements. I didn't feel anything with Gabe for ages and even after I felt movement I didn't feel regular movement until the 3rd trimester. This time I don't have an anterior placenta but I still don't feel as much movement as I felt with Elena. Elena was like a spaz baby in there or something, lol. She moved constantly, so much that sometimes it made me feel physically ill. This baby is moving a lot more now in the last few weeks but is still pretty 'lazy'.

I had an appointment on the 24th, all was well. I did the glucose test on the 27th and that went fine and I haven't heard anything from my OB so I assume my numbers were normal. Unlike Angie I think the orange drink would taste kinda good if it were carbonated, lol. I'm a serious sugar fiend. You don't want to see how much sugar I pour into my coffee.

Next appointment I'll be just over 28 weeks (i think it's 21st) and I'll get my Rhogam shot since I'm Rh-. Then it will be appointments every 2 weeks! Holy sheep.

And this is my last week in the 2nd trimester!

Thanks for reassuring me. It's hard not to sit and think about all the stuff that can go wrong when you're stuck at home all day long with two babies for company! I'm definitely thinking this one is a boy, but that might be because I've only had experience with boys! The big u/s is in 9 days, and I'm eager to make sure everything is going well in there. I dread the glucose test, I didn't realize I'm in for that a lot sooner than I was thinking. It makes me so sick every time!

I'm sure that since you got used to boys you'd be great at learning how to raise a girl as well. That's my hope for myself if I ever have a girl. ;)

Are you hoping for one over the other? Where should my prayers go? :) I'll start with "healthy baby." :D

We're hoping for healthy baby first, and 3rd boy second. I can only think of boy names, and since all three babies are going to be so close in age, I'd love for them to be all boys so we can reuse clothes over and over and toys, too! My dad is hoping and praying for a girl, since he only has grandsons, but he had four girls in a row before my brother and knows that it might be hereditary for me to have alot of the same gender! My mother in law had 4 boys first (and then 9 other kids!) but the first four boys are definitely the closest in the family, and I love that.
