If you guys were like me, fairly soon after getting the bfp, it was time to start looking at all the baby gear.

I have a changing pad that when Xander was smaller I put on the floor.

That is what my bil and sil did. They put a changing pad on top of his dresser. I thought that was a neat idea and wished I had thought of it.

I know I'm coming back to this a little late, but about changing tables... I found a dresser that has a top that is the perfect size for a changing pad and diaper caddy.

I had to change Casey on the floor for a long time so I could put my leg over him to keep him from getting away. :)

I had a changing table given to me from SIL, so we use that whenever we're in the room with it. The floor is just as easy for me.

I debated whether or not to buy a changing table. I'd thought about just changing her in the crib or on the floor, etc. But I decided on a dresser that's made to have a changing pad on top of it because she needed a dresser anyway. I'm glad I did, because it's just the right height and not hard on my back like the crib would have been. Anytime we're away from home and I have to change her on the floor, it's almost impossible to keep her from getting up and crawling away. I think she associates the changing table with a place that she can't get away from as easily. She certainly does try to get away, but not nearly like she does on the floor.

I had it with #1 who is now 10 so definitely the older version here too lol.

We never really needed a changing table but this time around I chose a model of crib with an attached dresser & changing table on top of it. I didn't use it often though...... Mostly used the floor of whatever room we're in lol.

Mine was also the original. I used to get so aggravated twisting and trying to cut the bag. The Elite sounds like it may be nicer to use.

Mine was the original, not the Elite. Sounds like it's a lot better! :)

I guess I'm in the minority liking the Diaper Genie. But are you guys not happy with the old Diaper Genies or the new DG Elite? I have the Elite and I really like it. You don't have to twist it or anything like I've heard the old ones did. I also like the foot pedal that opens the lid. It does a pretty good job keeping stink out, although after a year's use I can tell a difference in the effectiveness of that. Maybe it's just my OCD, but I like having a "product" for diaper disposal. I like that these are the bags I use, this is the way you change it, this is how you throw it out, etc. Yeah, that's the OCD talking!

My kids outgrew their changing tables very quickly. They would smack their ankles on the railing and get hurt. I honestly usually just put a towel on the couch or floor, and change them there :)
