Kev went to a 'boot camp for kids' this summer and loved it. They asked him if he wanted to try Tae Kwon Do. He said he did. So he has been going to class for over 2 months now. Our only requirement is if they ask you to practice at home, you have to practice. If he quits trying and working hard, or we have to bug him about practicing, we will simply stop paying for it and driving to the next town for class.

My kiddo is in karate. As an aside, I've always wondered what the difference was between that and Tae Kwon Do, Judo, etc.
Coincidentally, we have to drive over to the next town to get to class too- it's a pain in the butt, especially in traffic so I secretly won't bet too disappointed if she wants to quit.
Basically, taekwondo is Korean and karate is Japanese.

Malachi (2nd grade) is doing chess and violin, and basketball starts in November. Aaron (3 yo) has a swimming program that starts in October. He's done music programs for toddlers in the past, but we're taking a break this fall b/c he's adjusting to preschool.
