NYC's 10th anniversary ceremony will not have clergy or prayers.

wow! I'm surprised. Usually they get around that by having a couple of different faiths represented by the clergy. I personally don't mind because I know so many people find comfort in their religion. I live outside of NYC and people here in the Northeast are not in-your-face about religion so it's not like the Bible Belt. I can't really see the ceremony being totally devoid of this type of thing so I bet they will at least have a moment of silence.

I think they will cave and allow a Christian pastor to do a generic prayer that they claim includes everyone, yet is still a Christian prayer. What they should do, and shouldn't cause any sort of uproar but would, is have a moment of silence. That allows those that pray to use that time to pray and those that don't to take a minute to reflect on the event.
