My DD 12 is pretty much ostracized at school, she's just a square peg.

She's in French immersion so this term the focus is on learning French so they can get down to the real learning. So the were given a list of words to translate and write an example of, all in French. Church was on the list. The teacher asked DD to do it aloud and she was dumbfounded. Couldn't name a Church name. (Though I said she should have made something up Like "St Mary of Sunshine and Light!") The teacher was quite put out by this and moved on to someone else. when a Boy who hasn't been that kind in the past leaned over and said "It's okay I'm an atheist I can't name one either!" then went back to minding his own business and ignoring my DD. LOL

Made me appreciate the little things!

What a very cool kid he is! Hugs to your daughter, I was kind of a 'weird kid' too. I have been out of school for over 25 years now and when I encounter the 'odd' ones from that day now, THEY are the cool ones. Her day is coming ;)

Thanks for your kind comment. I keep telling her that these are the sucky years and the world will be hers once school is done!

So far she believes me but I know it's going to get harder before it gets better for her. She comes by it honestly I was and still am a bit of a dweeb!!LOL
