Has anyone done the 40 Bags in 40 Days challenge? A friend shared this link with me where you commit to ridding your home of 40 bags of stuff during the 40 days of Lent. You can recycle it, donate it, or whatever.

I saw this on a blog, and I think it is a great idea! Unfortunately I saw it a little too late to really get my head around it for this year's Lent.

Yes. It's a bit late for us to pull off 40 bags too. BUT, I gave up complaining this year. I think I can do it, but *if* I slip (I'm not planning on it!) I might just have to fill up a bag to donate.

Great idea! I hate to think I have 40 extra bags of stuff lying around, but it may be true.

...what a cool idea...we've missed a few days, obviously...but, I bet...if we tried...me and my children could come up with 'makeup bags' to bring us up to speed...I think we'll try this...

I saw that link on Faith and Family too and liked it. But like a few others here, so far I've only done a few "mental bags". Even if I don't do 40 bags I'm still going to try to do at least some. And the thought (at least for me) is not limited to Lent ;-).

I agree. It's definitely not limited to Lent. We usually do donations twice a year. I think I put way too much thought into what to donate than I should. I guess a good rule that I *try* to follow, but always slip on is "if you haven't used it in the past year, you don't need it." Why is it so much easier to spout that off than follow?

I find I'm ok at the tossing/keeping decision for a session until I get too tired. I know that when I start to have a hard time deciding to toss/keep it's time to stop for that period of time and resume at another time.

Your blog is very cute! How do you find time to keep it current?? My sister has six kids (all about 18 months apart) and manages to keep hers current as well. I just don't know if I could pull myself together to maintain a blog, as much as I would *love* to!
