Hi Jen,

I went to 2 baptisms outside the church. One was Lutheran. The other was at some nondenominational church.

I have attended a few. Those that I went to would be considered valid in the eyes of the church. They were my niece and nephews' baptisms. Interestingly, as I understand it, an LDS baptism would not be valid from a Catholic point of view, because of divergent views on the trinity.

In your case, I'd probably go, but leave the kids at home just because it is easier and your husband can watch them.

Thanks, Terri! I did attend and brought our 3 year-old. Ian (6YO) has a standing "date" with his grandparents on Friday nights, so that's what he did instead. To me, it's interesting to see.

My sister just gave birth to their 7th child a couple of weeks ago, and I just received an invitation to the baby's blessing. It will be held during one of their Sunday church services. We might attend that. I haven't checked with DH yet. I imagine he won't want to go, but I want to be there to support them. It will most likely be me and DD again. We all went to the last baby blessing, and I know DH's thought will probably be (again) that he's been to one so he doesn't need to go to another. I'm OK with going by myself. I wish I didn't have to, but I understand.
