Can a Catholic have a Catholic wedding if he/she is not confirmed? This question came up at an extended family gathering over the weekend and the consensus was that "they are not requiring it (confirmation) anymore". Not an issue in my family, all my children are taking CCD classes and will contiune to do so until they are confirmed but I was just wondering. Thank you.

Canon Law states that one who is intending to receive the Sacrament of Marriage should receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation just prior to the Wedding and if they are not Confirmed should receive Confirmation if that is possible before the Marriage. Generally this is possible because of the 6 month to a year waiting and preparation period for Marriage in most diocese.

Two co-workers of mine (separate weddings) were getting married last year. Both had to be confirmed first, even though they were practicing Catholics.
