DYK I took the kids to get dose #2 of H1N1 last Friday, and I got mine too. Since Saturday I've been having side effects (coughing, aching, sore throat), and the kids started coughing yesterday. Blah. I just want us all to feel better.

DYK I started knitting? I've had all the stuff for a while, but I finally sat down and just did it. I should have started a long time ago because it really is very therapeutic!

DYK I heard it was -19 degrees outside in our area today? I believe it. We just got back from running errands and to say it's cold doesn't even begin to cover it. We don't have snow, just big wind gusts. It was so windy when we were out and about that I was sure we were going to blow right off the road a few times. I wish it would just snow already. It's a lot easier to deal with this temperature when there's something pretty to look at.

DYK I'm sorry about the flat tire. I hit a curb once and it popped my tire. The guy behind me was kind enough to stop and change the tire for me. I felt a bit silly because my dad made sure that I knew how to change my own tire, but I'm glad this guy was there. He had a hard time with those lug nuts, so I know I probably wouldn't have been able to do it myself.

DYK an ornament exchange sounds like a lot of fun. I found out today that my aunt is having a cookie party next weekend, but I can't go. We already have plans. It's too bad because I'd love to hang out with them.

DYK I need to go to confession. I should quit putting it off and just go because the bad stuff just keeps accumulating. :/

DYK we just got back from evening Mass and both kids were awesome.

DYK We had a different priest tonight? Ian was listening to the homily, turned to me with HUGE eyes and asks, "Is that true?" I just nodded, and Ian goes, "Then I'm scared!" I was a little confused because there was nothing scary in what the priest was saying. At that moment he was talking about greed and self entitlement. I just whispered to him that there wasn't anything to be afraid of, and I told him we'd talk about it in the car.

DYK by the time we got to the car he couldn't remember what made him afraid? I think the problem might have been the priest's accent. He was an older gentleman, very animated, and had a Greek accent. Ian is used to the "regular guy."

DYK this is pretty much why I don't like going to the evening Mass? It's kind of like Forrest Gump's box of chocolate, you never know who you're going to get.

DYK I am glad the kid was even paying attention. He's 5! I don't remember paying attention in church at 5.

I am sooooo going nuts with finals week coming up!!

I think I am finally finished studying for the night

I studied ALL WEEKEND, except for Friday night, when I went to my husband's work Christmas party; and this morning, when I went to Mass

While I'm actually studying, I don't really mind it, but for some reason the prospect of it overwhelms me and sometimes it's hard to get motivated

We all had the H1N1 vaccine

Our pediatrician brought it to the house to give it to me and the kids, in exchange for a Greek meal, LOL

My DH got it @ work

He was the only one who had any side effects, and he just said he was kind of achey and had a sore throat the next day, but then he was fine

I figured that since he got it from a different batch than we did, it must be because of that

My headache finally went away

I appreciate the suggestions of eye strain. . . I don't need glasses (yet) that I know of, but it is possible I'm straining without realizing it

I do notice that if I'm reading, and look up and try and focus on something far away, it takes my eyes a second to adjust to the distance vision, and that never used to happen

However, I really think my headaches were sinus-related, because they were in my face, and we've had such horrible, wet weather; and when my DH prescribed me a nasal steroid spray, it cleared up

I'm far, far from ready for Christmas. . . And I'm kind of overwhelmed

I'll be better on Wednesday when I take my last final

And yes, I know, I REALLY need to change my siggy from Fall to Christmas, but I just don't have time yet (Sorry!)

DYK good luck with your finals! How much of a break will you get after finals?

DYK that was very nice of your ped to bring it to the house. What did you make for him? I love Greek food!

DYK I've heard that side effects are actually a good thing from the vax? If that's true, then I feel pretty confident that mine was a huge success! :) I actually feel better today.

DYK I hope your headaches subside soon. I used to get really bad sinus headaches. After I had DS they stopped. I guess it's one of those crazy side effects of pregnancy for me. At least this one was a welcome effect!
