Divine Mercy Sunday

My parish had a service Sunday afternoon that included reciting the Divine Mercy chaplet. I didn't go this time, since I was in my bed a large portion of Sunday. I first learned of it on my CRHP weekend, and love its simplicity.
Did anyone else's parish have anything going on for Divine Mercy Sunday?

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Because dh had to leave for the airport so early on Sunday morning we went to Mass on Sat.. ... but we opted for another parish so that it wouldn't be too late for dinner afterwards..... they had a Divine Mercy pic on the altar....

I don't know that myown parish did anything special....

I would love to have been in Poland this past weekend.... I knkow there must have been thousands of folks at the shrine

We have the Divine Mercy picture on the altar, and instead of reciting a decade of the rosary before mass, the lector leads the Divine Mercy chaplet.

We came in while the chaplet was being said, and after it was done, DH whispered to me, "What on earth was THAT?!" ;)

If you've never been to the Divine Mercy Shrine in Stockbridge, MA, and you live in the northeast, it's well worth the trip. The chapel itself is very small - holds maybe 150 people - but every bit of the church is covered with images of saints, the Holy Family, etc. It's quite beautiful.

There was nothing special done on Sunday, but our parish recites both the Rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy before each weekday Mass. We also have a large permanent picture of Divine Mercy image on one of the walls in the church.

>I"m guessing about Sister Faustina since her pic is at the top.... need to find someone that knows Polish....

I teach French to Polish children on Tuesdays - I'll have to ask them for insights :)

I don't remember mention of Divine Mercy until relatively recently.
