Sandra, I'm so sorry to hear that your husband passed away a few years ago. I also wanted to congratulate you on the upcoming baptism of your two sons. I'm the baptism coordinator at my parish and we would have offered to be as accommodating as your parish is with the situation. I always say...any time (age)

Welcome to the board, Sandra! I love your screen name, very cute!

I'm Jen. I'm a baby Catholic. I "converted" in 2001. I'm married to my high school sweetheart. We've been together for 17 years, but just celebrated 7 years of marriage last month. We have two kiddos: Ian (age 5) and Lucy (16 months). I'm a SAHM. Life is busy and hectic, but I wouldn't have it any other way!

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I cannot even begin to imagine what you have been through. I'm glad you found us.

Congratulations on the upcoming baptisms! It sounds like you've found a great church to accommodate you. Try not to feel too bad about the late baptism. Sometimes life just gets in the way, and you have certainly had enough on your plate. Feeling bad about something you cannot change won't help. The important thing is that it's being done.

Hi Sandra. (My mom's first name was Sandra, but she went by her middle name) My boys are 15 months apart, so I'm familiar with the irish twins part of life lol. Due in part to my marrying a non-Catholic, my kids didn't get baptized as babies. My boys ended up going through RCIA for children. Last month, my daughter got baptized 3 weeks before her 7th birthday, thereby avoiding her need to do RCIA. I'm due with our 4th in September, and I don't plan on waiting to baptize this one. I know my husband will be supportive, unlike in the past. He's come around quite a bit the last couple years.

And please be kind to yourself. You've had a heap on your plate. Yours is no enviable position, and I'm sure your parish is understanding of that and is only glad to accommodate your situation. Don't be embarrassed by the fact that your boys are preschoolers getting baptized. The good news is you're GETTING them baptized!
Welcome home,

~Trish

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

I apologize for the threadjack, but Polly, just head to Florida for your Summer weather. This week it's been in the 90s already.
