Obviously this only applied to those who had sex before marriage (and in this day and age I think that applies to most people, but I'm not assuming). Have you taken that issue to confession?

Or is this something you have worked out between yourself and God, without involving a priest?

Or do you not see the need to address it in your spiritual life at all?

Yes I did. It was years ago when I was pg with my first child.

As far as pre-marital sex goes, I was less than promiscuous. I confessed the activities with my first fiance and the ones with my one other lover. They were part of a past in which they were the least of my sins, and I included them in cleaning the wreckage of my past.

I did not confess the pre-marital sex I had with my spouse. Although one might say it was fornication, I know that it was not. We did not enter into it lightly and we knew that what we had together was forever. My husband had been married before and I had been sexually abused. We wanted to be together forever, but could not admit that to ourselves, much less each other. When we had healed enough to trust, we committed in the Church what was already in fact.
