I know I know!;) Is it "Oh Lord, You're Beautiful..."??! I'm not sure if I've ever cried during church (except maybe a couple weddings & some funerals!!) I know I've felt joy many times within my heart whether it was pure health, or was it just Christ in me??! (I loved the music so much, as I was growing up!!:) Many people believe the Spirit's the congregation or the Pastor himself. Although I Truly believe in the Spirit working within each of us everyday & never breaking a single Soul~ "He who believeth in Him shall never perish... "

Yes, I've cried a few times. Mostly after my mother died and some songs just really reminded me of her. A few times also before she died when a song was played that reminded me of my Catholic High School days. I loved my Catholic high school and missed it terribly when I graduated. Good luck on your dh's job search. I hope he finds something soon, $ situations can be so trying. Beth

Not at all shocking really. I'm pretty much the same. I cry at least every other mass and usually before/after the Eucharist. It started in the early 90s when my Uncle was deployed in the Gulf. I don't know why it started then it just did and it's never really stopped. Protestant friends say that it is the Holy Spirit moving in me and that may be so. I do know that I cry more during mass when I feel most separated from God because of attitude, etc. I feel like He is drawing me back in, in a kind of ethereal hug and I am so grateful. The funny thing is that I'm not really the crying type (unless I'm pregnant). I guess I just feel safe in the Lord's house to be myself emotionally.

Wow, I'm glad it's not just me. I went to the May Crowning and was blubbering during the whole thing. My non-religious husband didn't know why. From "Our Lady of Knock, My Queen of Peace" to "Oh Mary we crown thee with blossoms today..." I wasn't the only one crying there either.

Also, I always check the song list before mass to give my self time to prepare for an emotional song.

I cry all the time! Not every week but most of them. On Mother's Day the Priest gave all the Mom's a special blessing and I cried. There is one song that is sung every once in a while and my oldest son will see the number and say "Mommy, 494 is being sung today so don't cry!"

I believe we cry because the Sprit is with us and we feel it and that is how we show that it is with us.

I cry every time I receive the eucharist. It usually starts with the anticipation of receiving Jesus' body as I walk down the aisle. I think of the blood he shed for us; my husband and children being baptized; being "cured" of my disease; and all that he is to me. It's a little embarrassing, but my priest said, "You have the gift of tears."

I'm so sorry to hear about your husbands job loss.
