Welcome to the board! I'm Jen. We're in the Chicago area. I have Ian, who is 7, and Lucy (she's 3). We'll be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary this coming May. We also have a dog and (temporarily) a bird.

Were you together long before that? DH and I met in high school, so it was almost exactly 10 years from our first "date" until our wedding. It's weird to think that we've known each other more than half of our lives. He used to ride his bicycle to my house and pick flowers on the way. He doesn't do things like that anymore, lol!

We did. Against the advice of our families. FIL absolutely refused to visit us until after the wedding.

I still don't know what I'm going to say to my kids about that if they ever ask. I suppose I'll just be honest.

No, I don't think it's weird. The living situations of others isn't my business.

DS goes to Catholic school as well. How do you like it there? We did a year of public school for half day kindergarten (long story), and then started him off with the full day kindergarten program at the Catholic school. I'm finding (as is he) that his school is so much more demanding in terms of academics. I'm pretty surprised by the amount of homework he's been bringing home since school started. He's in first grade this year.
