Sure! The more the messier,...er.. MERRIER! sorry...I have kids on the brain tonight.
I'm Trish - cradle Catholic married 14+ years to the Southern Baptist boy who wouldn't leave her alone almost 17 years ago. We have 3 kids and one more surprise incubating, due to arrive in September. My 82 year old dad has been an usher since LONNNNNG before I was born. My 14 year old seems to be following that path now too. I am a lector and my daughter has been sitting with her friend in the choir for a while now, but she does sing and participate. My ds15 stopped going to church while he lived with my MIL. I decided to pick my battles wisely with him because there are quite simply so many battles with him. The youth director is working on him a bit, and maybe down the road he'll decide on his own that church isn't as boring as he'd like to think it is.

Welcome to the board and congratulations to your DS for his upcoming First Communion ;)

and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Right now I"m looking for my niche at our parish; we've been here almost 10 mos.... I am loving working with the ladies on setting up for the yard sale this week;plus I've found some great bargains

Hi! I am also a newbie. I am Teresa and live in Arizona with dh, 2 of my 4 kids and my grandson. My ds is a solider in the US army, currently studying to be a combat medic.

I am currently not attending church as I have WAY too many issues with the Catholic Church. I am trying to work thru them, but it is taking a long time.

Roz, Congrats. I didnt know you were going to be a grandma!

Teresa, I just wanted to welcome you and also encourage you to continue trying to reconcile whatever issues you have with the Church.

Thanks to all who responded. I feel very welcome. I do have to say that my grandpa married 4 grandkids and his mother [ the weekend after he was ordained} and have baptized all of his great grandkids. except my baby.:/ I live in a VERY LDS town in AZ {8 churches and a temple} we maybe have 10,000 people, it is very hard to be Catholic here. Kids have a hard time playing sports, being able to date. not being Mormon.
So i am so glad that there is this board that I can come to.
