My name is Karen and I love Holy Week. Love the liturgical celebrations. There is SO much that happens during this week that you miss if you just show up on the Sundays (Palm and Easter)
What is going on where you are?
Monday night was confessions at our parish. Always good. Tonight, there is a Tenebrae Service. My 16 year old and I are on our way there in a minute...he is serving.
Thursday is the Chrism Mass in the morning at the Cathedral. I've been the past couple of years and loved it, but this year I am skipping it. In the evening is the Mass of the Lord's Supper. My favorite Mass all year, and then it is followed by an hour (at our parish) of Adoration (could you not wait with me for an hour?) Love, love, love this. Lent officially ends at the beginning of the evening Mass.
Friday is the Commemoration of the Passion at 3 pm.
And Saturday is the Easter Vigil at 8 pm.
CHeck local listings to see what is going on at a parish near you! Missing these services is like having tickets to the Super Bowl and not going, says a priest that I know.
