Yesterday we had dinner with Brian's side of the family. Lucy ate wonderfully! She loved the turkey, potatoes, green beans, and (her favorite that MIL made just for her) steamed broccoli. Ian ate really well too. Ian spent the night there on Wednesday because he wanted to help with the turkey, and MIL gets it started early in the morning. It was hilarious to hear him talk about how his grandma prepped the turkey! Poor kid.
After we finished up with the ILs we went to my grandma's house for a bit. Lucy hadn't had a nap, so she was running fumes. We stayed for about 45 minutes or so just to visit. My aunt, uncle, and cousins from out of state were there, so it was nice to see them.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving at my sister's house. My mom just called to try to guilt trip me about not going. It didn't work because I don't feel bad about my decision. I honestly think it's in everyone's best interest that we just skip it this time.
As far as Black Friday goes, I don't shop in brick and mortar stores after Thanksgiving unless I absolutely have to. The only exception would be grocery shopping. I was looking through the Black Friday sales ads yesterday, and I really didn't see anything this year that was any better than any other weekend sale. DH's aunt and cousins go every year, so if there's something we think we'd like we ask them to pick it up if they can.
we had 4 friends over for dinner... and then 3 more joined us for dessert. We also played Trivial Pursuit and BuzzWord.
I went shopping today but after lunch but not for black friday sales

Thanksgiving was good.
We had a truly remarkable, once in a lifetime experience in going to the NYC,Macy's Day Parade.
We went to a friend's house for dinner, and I was up way late scoping out the Black Friday stuff. I did get a good deal on a couple gifts for the boys with free shipping, and through Upromise. We did score the specifics on our list from the Black Friday ads too, including a new grill for dh. The one we had was smacked by a large limb, and the lid was cracked, and frame badly bent.
...I still haven't gotten a laptop yet though... lol. I suspect I may never get one ;)
