Sorry to just drop in, but I'm not sure where else to post/ask my questions.

I think you need to make it clear that he does not have the option of changing his mind. He promised to not to interfere in your responsibility of Baptizing and raising the children in the Catholic Faith, He made that promise before God and the Church. Tell him that he can practice his faith if he wishes and that you and the children will practice yours. The Book that you have is very good. I would also recomend a Catechism as well as "Catholic and Christian". There is also a book titled "Biblical Basis of Catholic Beliefs"

Michelle:

That's a tough situation. Could be that the move back home is making your husband nostalgic for his childhood, and his rediscovered religion is part of that. I think you have to make it clear to him that you're happy that he's rediscovered his faith, while making it equally clear that that doesn't mean your children are going to change theirs. Raising the children Catholic was a promise you both made, and not one that can be discarded.

The book you have is particularly good at describing the meanings behind various customs and traditions, including most of those that bother/interest non-Catholics. You may wish to also invest in one that focuses more on pure theology -- although I can't recommend one.

You may also want to visit your priest, and just ask him some questions. If your husband will go, that is great, but if he won't I think it would still be useful for you.

Keep praying about it too, of course. I hope it all works out with as few problems as possible.
