I need help!!!

Has anyone come across a site that lists the daily readings including 'alternate' readings? ie, the Psalms?? For example, on July 5th, it is the 'grand opening' of the new church, the Arch Bishop is going to be there and my partner and I don't want to make any 'Faux Pa's' and assume that such and such Psalm will be okay in stead of 123... which we could only find one song in the Catholic Book of Worship III. Our choir primarily used the Spirit and Song books!!

Any help would be fantastic!! As it is, I only have the Missel. (sp)

Do your lectors have a "workbook"? You may be able to find the responsorials in there, depending on which one your parish has for the lectors. If all else fails, far better to call the church office and ask if there's a different reading planned so you don't make any errors for such an auspicious occasion. You may want to find out who's in charge of the liturgical committee (some parishes have one) and ask them for guidance.
GOOD LUCK!

and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Okay this is a pet peeve of mine... I don't like it when the cantor sings a responsorial psalm that is different from what is in the missalette... why? because many times their singing is not clear enough for me to hear the words or it's too long for me to remember... I don't like being left out of the praying in Mass..... so if the psalm is different than the missalette, enunciate :)

I just went to the US Conference of Catholic Bishop's site and the only Responsorial they list there for July 5 is also Psalm 123. My Living With Christ misalette also only lists Psalm 123 for that day too.

This site from St. John's Parish, Creighton University lists music for Sundays that includes July 5 with Responsorial Psalm 95 (If Today You Hear His Voice)

The next litergy meeting is the end of the month. And as I am also one of the Music Ministers, I do attend. I will ask them about it. I was thinking though, to go a head and sing 123 from CBW and have the Cantor from the Mens choir do it. They usually use the CBW. We have already picked a few 'oldy but goody' songs and sorta personalized them. One is "Alleluia! Sing to Jesus." and "Amazing Grace" as it goes with one of the readings for that day. Because we are expecting new and past members of the congregation to attend, and many seniors, we are 'throwing them a bone' sort of speak! ;)

I will ask Father and my friend who is on the Liturgy Council too. Thanks for you help!!

I may just look up that book of Psalms though!! I want to order more of the Spirit and Song books for myself anyway... *grin* I personally am usually a stickler for wanting to sing what the Missal says. I am just kinda shocked that only the CBW has this psalm! Not even the Glory and Praise has one!!
