Ministry Fair

My parish has scheduled a Ministry Fair the weekend of September 19/20. It takes place after in the church hall after all weekend Masses. It's not a yearly event. I think the last one we had was at least five years ago. I wondered if any of your parishes hold Ministry Fairs to inform parishioners of the various parish ministries available.

Ours has one every other year. It's a big undertaking, which I suppose is the reason why it's not done every year.
In addition, each year, in the fall I think, every parishioner is mailed a stewardship commitment form in which they indicate the ministries they are currently involved in as well as any they may be interested in learning more about.

We have one every year. One interesting thing we do is we have a raffle. To enter the raffle, you pick up a card and then get it stamped whenever you ask a question at one of the ministry booths. Three questions qualify you to enter the raffle. In theory, it is an interesting way to get people who might be hesitant to ask questions to ask them, and to get everyone to learn more about different ministries. In reality, I don't know if it has been successful. My daughter has won something both years that we've done this, so I wonder if participation is low.
We also have donuts and coffee, of course!

I think since I have been at my Parish, the Church has done something like this. However, I know that many of the ministries or upcoming events are listed in the bulletin and everything is listed online.
I was just browsing the Parish website and found a pilgrimage to the holy land is being scheduled for the first 2 weeks of February. I think that would be an amazing trip, but unfortunately, I can not afford it.

This sounds like something we did in Iowa quite a few years ago.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

No ministry fair and not too many ministries that I can think of.... Altar servers, altar society, lectors, eucharistic ministers/EMHC's, choir, ushers, religious ed.
