Palm Sunday

So lets do another survey, since people seemed to enjoy learning about how things are done in different places.

I was up until past 2am waiting for my son to come home from prom so I went to Mass on Redstone (military installation)... and it had been storming not too long before Mass started

Do you have a procession? How big- around the church, outside, around the neighborhood?........

There was no procession. not sure if that's usual or not.

Do you do the gospel at the beginning of Mass? At all of them or just one?.....

We had one Gospel at the beginning of Mass

Do you wear red?.....

I've heard of wearing red on Pentecost but I never heard of that for Palm Sunday

Do you stand or sit during the Passion?.....

We stood

Any special music?.....

Didn't seem to be anythign special; all were thankfully in the missal or hymnal

No procession at the 9AM Mass but I believe there was to be one at the 10:30.

Do you do the gospel at the beginning of Mass? At all of them or just one?

Yes, the Gospel is read that the beginning of each Mass followed by the blessing of the palms.

Do you wear red?

No - didn't think about it until I got there.

Do you stand or sit during the Passion?

Stood.

Any special music?

Not really; other than "All Glory, Laud and Honor" to begin and the first three verses of "Where You There?" at the end. I imagine there was more special music at the 10:30 as that is the Mass the choir sings at.

Ours was read by Msgr., our deacon and a lector. We have "worship aids" (not sure I like that description, but that's what they call them) - essentially, a little booklet with the songs, readings and other information for Palm Sunday and the Triduum. There were "crowd" parts in today's reading of the Passion.

Yes we kneel at that part and it's one of my favorite parts.
