Still here & still baking a baby

Those of you on my Facebook friends list see the daily updates...but yes, I'm still here. I hadn't made any progress at Monday's appointment over last week, and decided to schedule an induction for next Monday if Thumper hasn't arrived by the weekend.
As of this posting, hints are appearing that Thumper is eyeing the exit. However, the doc I'd rather avoid is on call on my due date. The Catholic doctor in the practice is on call Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Plus there's daily life like religious ed on Wednesday for 2 kids, and DH's store is doing inventory. Thursday ds14 has a football game and DH has a softball game. So yea, I'd quite honestly like to get through those two days to minimize disruption and having to rely on others nearly as much to help with the kids.
Of course, this would be one of those lessons called "In HIS time, not mine" right?
I'm still working as well, because my boss can't cover my stores herself (company doesn't permit it - blah) and the other reps in the area are either traveling or covering the stores the traveling rep is assigned. The upside of some of this is that my stores all know I'm due this week and wouldn't be upset or surprised not to see me and may try to keep things neat while I'm out. I've been getting asked why I'm still working....may as well earn a paycheck while I can versus leave a store unserviced and have to work twice as hard later to get it back in order.
You wouldn't believe (or maybe you would) the number of shocked looks I got Tuesday while working a reset and people ask when I'm due and hear "tomorrow".

Prayers for a successful delivery, Trish! I worked the day I went into labor with my third baby, too. People told me I should be home, but I told them I'd get more rest at work than with two kids at home.

I laughed at this post -- sounds like me last pregnancy. I was all set to have the baby the last week of school, because we didn't have after school activities or camps and I had offers three layers deep to watch the kids. I planned to go into labor in the morning and be done in time for Peter to pick up the kids from school. That would put birth at 38 weeks, and all of my others were early.
Reality- labor starts at 3 a.m., and our first two options to watch the kids are out of town. I have the baby at 41 weeks. My doctor is on vacation.
Ah well. All in good time. Good luck, and I'll say a prayer for an easy delivery.

and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
