It is 4 o'clock and dh is supposed to be getting home soon....or so my biological clock says. But my rational mind says he's in LA for the week. *sigh*

The kids *know* daddy is supposed to be getting home now also. They are getting a little hyper and keep running to the living room window checking for his car. They become totally disappointed that "mom is it" for the night around the time I serve dinner. Then the real rapid fire work begins....clean up dinner, bath, PJ's, books, teeth, potty and bed. Seems so simple doesn't it? But it's a big chore come 4pm and they keep looking for daddy.

Tomorrow is St. Patrick's day and I have a couple of little pranks planned for them. Jeremy's K class assignment was to build a Leperchaun trap! LOL He was a riot tonight trying to expain and build his elaborate scheme. I need to pay bills tonight---what fun! I went to the library today and got a couple new books---for which the titles are excaping me right now. I'm nursing my hamstrings today, I over did it y'day but the yard looks so nice!! dh will be suprised.

Well, I have a chicken calling my name....I'll check back a little later.

It's funny how we all have a time of day we dread. I have a hard time from 6:45 to 8 p.m. Preston leaves for his second job at 6:45, so that starts the time, and then it's the night-time bedtime marathon. Augh. I've given up the nightly bath for the late-afternoon baths just to help calm things down.

Sorry you're missing DH. That stinks to have him far, but I pray he'll return home safely and happily soon.

A leprechaun trap? That is hysterical .. LOL

What're the pranks? Tell meeeeeeeeee.

Kimberly,

I dread the evenings when DH is out of town. It's like a long tunnel to walk through til bedtime. But, my kids know that those are the nights they get to snuggle in my bed a little longer & read an extra chapter or two before lights out!

Hope you made it through OK!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I've never been a fan of the nightly bath routine, but tonight was the night! It went as it usually does, no hassel, mommy's just tired. You're right it is like a marathon from one thing to the next.

Jeremy didn't catch a leprechaun but we did have some leprechans visit and pull some pranks!! They turned our milk green. Set the table in green. Brought Addy a couple quarters under her bowl and a shamrock matching game http://www.preschoolprintables.com/filefolder/shamrock/filefoldershamrock.shtml
Addy is too old for this but I knew she would like the colors and it is a game "for her" most eveything else used to be Jeremy's.

Jeremy also got a couple of quarters and instructions on making a mobile of another shamrock printable I found on line but I can't find it now! It has 6 various sizes of shamrocks. Today we are going to make that and talk about the trinity representing each petal. Leprechauns also left Jeremy a shamrock derby hat to wear to school today. He is going to ask his teacher if he can wear it or if he should keep it in his back pack! lol My little rule follower!! I also sighned cards for the three of them.

Nothing that cost anything. It's the one holiday that hasn't gone commercial, unless you are an adult. We were invited over for corned beef and cabbage dinner tonight too! Good thing it's not Friday!! LOL

Happy St. Patrick's Day! We made it. I have just been running on a low battery with these allergies. I did read them three stories last night, funny you should mention that! We were having a good time and they were listening well. Laurel (baby dd-1yr) was even being sort of funny. She went around and sat in each of our laps and gave kisses.
