I'm always up for suggestions. What are you currently reading?

I've been reading "The Six Wives of Henry VIII" by Alison Weir forEVER. It's not that it's hard to read, it's just long and I don't have the kind of time to sit down and read a book like that the way I used to. I pick it up and read maybe a chapter a week. Plus, it's not very portable so it's not the best book to take anywhere. I *will* finish it! Eventually. :S

Right now I am about half-way through the Great Adventure Bible Study being offered at my parish, so I am spending more time than I ever have reading the Bible.

I review books (you can see reviews on my blog www.reneesuz.blogspot.com) - mostly Christian books..... I am probably going to read The Note II next (although I've heard it's not as good as the first)

I am STILL reading "The Shack"!! I haven't picked it up in ages though... I am also reading "You on a Diet" *lol* It is a really good book though!! I have been told that I think very scientifically so being told why our bodies do whatever is really cool. I also have two other books ready to read... they are more entertainment reading though. One is called 'The Scent of Sake' it is about Geisha's. And a Jodi Piccoult book.

"The Shack" - I'm about 1/4 of the way through it. I'd seen it mentioned on this board, read a review of it in St. Anthony Messenger while on a plane last week, and picked it up at the airport for the return flight.

"How to Be a Monastic and Not Leave Your Day Job" - about what it's like to be a Benedictine oblate, by an oblate director at a monastery in North Dakota. I read it through 2 weeks ago, I'm rereading it for the things that seem to resonate most with me.

And the Bible, since I'm accompanying a friend on his reading of the Bible this year. We're following a one-year Bible reading calendar. I'm behind by 3 days though.

So, I take it you recommend "How to be a Monastic...?" That's been on my list forever. I keep thinking I'll buy it when I have extra money, as a splurge gift to myself.

Did you mean what religious/Catholic books are we reading? None specifically at the moment but I am reading yet another Murder She Wrote book. I LOVE that whole series. Also like all the Monk murder mysteries but there aren't as many of those and I've read all of those. ;-)
