Do you have a shop near you that sells religious articles, mostly Catholic ones? I finally got to ours today and I wish I'd gone sooner! I loved it in there.

All the prayer cards, rosaries, prayer books, car items, on and on and on. I think I spent about an hour in there! I was buying things for my CCD kids for end-of-year. I need to go back to browse for myself! (although I did buy myself a JPII prayer card today)

There are several here and I know that being in a large city, I am rather spoiled in that regard. We are also within an hour from a Minor Basilica and key settlement shrine. Each one has its own personality of sorts, and I find myself going to the shop at the shrine more often than not. It's well worth the drive for the large variety they have.

May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

A couple of our churches have a small gift shop, but no store here - we are in the Bible Belt and a missionary diocese so very few Catholics to support a store.

Those places are real budget-busters for me! I also got the Catholic Child catalog the other day. The website isn't as easy to navigate -- but the catalog is great! It has everything -- a David and Goliath action set, for example. It even has a "Mass kit" so kids can play Mass! The books look great, the saint dolls make me laugh. You should check it out.

My church has a small shop. There is a shop on the main strip that has statues as well as small items. There is also a shop in the parish I frequent in NYC. It is wonderful but so very pricey.
