I'm back from NM...

I got back late Tuesday night.

My mom's surgery went well, and she's recovering nicely. Physically, anyway. Mentally, she's going crazy! My mom's not one to sit still for very long, now she's stranded in one spot, and she's not happy about it. She mastered the crutches, and she thinks she can do anything with them...until she tries and gets so frustrated. But her knee is doing great. ;)

I had a good time while I was there, I got to see my family, including my great-grandmother who will be 90 next month and is doing fairly well. I love when the kids get to spent time with her, I wish they could know her like I do, but they don't see her near enough. Tanner was born on my aunt's birthday, and they got to celebrate their birthday together for the first time, she was so excited about that.

On my way home, I stopped for the night at my MIL's, and I had a nice time there, too. The kids got to see their great-grandmother on that side as well.

The drive wasn't as uncomfortable as I thought it would be, thank goodness. Morning sickness has let up considerably, so I felt pretty good while I was gone. My belly popped out while I was away, DH was happy to see that (Couldn't button any of the jeans that I had packed.) Kind of funny...he was so worried that I would feel baby's first movements while I was gone and he would miss them. I felt it for the first time yesterday and called him right away. He told me, "Last night while you were sleeping I had my hand on your belly and I thought I felt it move a couple of times." So as it turns out, DH felt the baby move BEFORE I did! LOL! Worked out nicely.

Melanie, I received the frog package. It didn't get here until Monday. I'll probably get it out next Monday; we'll spend the weekend with him. :)

Jenna, I've been reading to catch up and wanted to tell you CONGRATULATIONS on your new little girl!!! I thought about you all week while I was gone, but couldn't get online to check on you. I'm so happy for you and Tom!

Kriste, I love your house, it's so sweet looking. :) Thanks for the pictures. Did your brother make it home safely from Bali?

Have a great Thursday everyone!

Welcome back Traci! I'm glad you survived your trip and that it wasn't as bad as expected. sounds like you got things squared away with your MIL too since you were able to visit her and not have her come to your mom's house. I'm glad your mom is doing well.

How exciting to feel the baby move. I just love the first few flutterings. Its when they are non-stop rib kicks in the middle of the night that I stop enjoying the movement. LOL.

Anyway, glad to have you back.

Hi Traci! Glad your trip went well! How exciting to be feeling the baby move! My sis just had her baby this week and she's just cute as can be! I want another one so bad! My sis told her dh "I can't wait for Steve to see the baby!" He couldn't figure out why and she said "Guaranteed, within a year, Melanie will be pregnant again!" WOO HOO! (Crossing all fingers and toes)

Have you joined our walking group? The board changed so I don't know if you saw any of the old messages. We just started on Monday so if you want to join in - go for it! Jenna has a website up for us to post updates on and check in.

Glad you got the frog! Hope he's doing well. Michelle (from Australia - other board) has several kids and one of them, her son, put in some froggy "food" (imaginary) for him to eat while he's traveling. Hope he hasn't ran out! lol! Hope y'all have fun with it! Talk to you soon! (Don't forget to send a postcard, I think the last person didn't send one - we really like to get them in the mail and chart the map!)

Talk to you soon!

Melanie
