Nighttime potty training is different than daytime potty training. The body must first develop the hormone that tells the kidneys to slow urine production at night. Without that hormone, the body makes as much urine in 2-3 hours as other bodies make in 10-12 hours overnight. There's no way the bladder can hold all the urine, and there's no way you can train your dd to awaken that many times at night and still get restful sleep. You have to wait until her body matures/develops the hormone.
Most doctors don't consider bedwetting a problem until a child is 8yo. There is a synthetic version of the hormone signaling the kidneys to slow urine production available as a prescription tablet, but it is not recommended until a child is much older (and once you discontinue the medication, the problem returns anyway unless the body has developed the hormone on its own naturally).
Once your dd body has matured, then the things you are trying now will be successful to help her learn to awaken to her body's signals of a full bladder (limiting fluids before bed, taking her to the bathroom during the night).
I do not think this is a big deal at all...my daughter just stopped wearing pull ups (at night) 2 weeks ago, and she will be five very soon.
Hey I do understand your concern. I just want to say try not to show your worries front of your young one, because if she knows that you're worry about it that will make her stress and worry. Just a thought.
